Great sight!

Written on Nov 21, 2018

Dollar for dollar this sight cannot be beat. The green option is well worth the extra coin, it really stands out compared to a standard red dot in nearly every scenario. love the choice of reticles, covers close up and medium distance duties very well.Field of view is outstanding and works really well with both eyes open for an uninterrupted sight picture. The solar works great, will say the auto dimming tends to be a little dimmer than I would like. Manual brightness goes plenty bright and is visible in all scenarios except direct sunlight in the eyes. All in all this performs awesome and is much cheaper than many of the other name brand red dots on the market. Had one that showed up DOA and optics planet was a joy to work with. The several others I have purchased have worked flawless as well as the replacement.

Bang for the buck

Written on Nov 21, 2018

after many countless hours researching, I finally purchased the Athlon Ares ETR for a 6.5 Creedmoor long range bench rifle build. Looking to get the best bang for my buck, this scope ticked off all the right boxes so I took a chance. I have had limited range use with it but here are my thoughts so far. All machine work looks great. Turrets are positive with a solid click. Reticle is very easy to use and illumination goes very low or very bright with an off position between each setting. Zero stop is easy to use, could not be easier! Tracking is spot on and with no shift on either elevation or windage. Eye box I would say is fair and have no complaints considering this is a 30x scope. Lastly the glass. I cannot compare this to 3-5k scopes as I do not have anything in that price range to compare with. I will say that I have absolutely no complaints and to my eye it is very clear and bright especially considering the price. You will notice some mirage at max power but it is not horrible and this is to be expected with this high of a magnification. So far I have no regrets and feel this was a bargain for what you get. This is from an average Joe perspective but I would not hesitate to purchase this scope again. If you are looking to get into long range shooting without breaking the bank, look no further.

Love this safety

Written on Nov 18, 2018

When I first purchased this safety I wasn't sure if I really liked it, I now have these on all of my rifles. Once I had time to practice and run the drills it has become second nature and easy to use. I love the ergonomics of this ambi safety and it does not get in the way of my hand. Many color options if that is important to you otherwise it just works. Have not had any fitment issues with my rifles and quality is great.

Its not a Harris

Written on Oct 20, 2018

have had several Harris bipods over the years and they just plain work. decided to build a nice 6.5 bench gun with higher end parts and went for the atlas on this build. have only had it to the range once but I am really impressed with this bipod so far. no rattling or loose parts, adjustments are rock solid with a very positive feel. Quick detach is great, mounting and removing is a snap. Is it worth the higher price over a Harris? Depends on what your needs are. if you just want a basic bipod that works, grab a Harris. If you want the nicest bipod you can get with very well thought out design and implementation, Atlas is at the top of the food chain. No regrets cor me so far.

Great bolt release

Written on May 05, 2018

I have several of the V2 versions of this bolt release and love them. First purchase of the V3 and I like them a little better than the previous. There are a few subtle differences which are small improvements over the V2. First this does not have the bold white logo and just blends in nicely with the rifle. This also has some light ridges cast into the radius which helps with grip. Lastly the shape of the end of the finger that runs through the trigger guard is reshaped which I like as well. All in all you cant go wrong with either one and they really help with ergos and keeping hand in position.

Great pistol brace!

Written on May 02, 2018

I have several different pistol braces, I think this is my new favorite! Compact, lightweight and just a great overall design.Brace fits snug on the buffer tube with no wiggle or play, positive locking on detents. Not sure how you would really strap your arm into this, but lets be honest, nobody is gonna buy this for that "feature" anyway. Would definitely recommend this, want an SBR without the hassle, here you go.

Yep, Its a cover

Written on Apr 22, 2018

Not to much you can say other than its a cover and does what its supposed to. Aero precision makes great stuff and this is no exception. Price is fair, some are cheaper but you know this will work if you have an M5 upper. Installs just like any other mill spec port cover with no issues.

Gen 3 mag release

Written on Apr 06, 2018

I have put these on every AR I have. They look great and really help to minimize shifting of your grip during a mag change. The button is a tiny bit smaller than the original part but I have not noticed any issues with functionality due to this.Price is right and does what it's supposed to, what more could you ask for.

Ergo Grip AR/M4 Grip

Written on Feb 17, 2018

I purchased this for an 300 AAC pistol build. I have Ergo tactical grips on all my AR rifles and absolutely love them! This grip does not fill up the hand quite as much as the tactical model but this was what I wanted for this build. Stock AR style grips all suck in my opinion and I have found these Ergo grips to be well worth the money. Only grip I will put on my rifles!

Elftmann Tactical Anti-Rotational, Anti-Walk pins

Written on Feb 17, 2018

These appear to be very high quality. Install is simple and took no time at all. Only issue found was that I was unable to use the included foam spacer with my Aero Precision lower. I had seen this mentioned on another review so was expecting to see this. Fits up as expected and no issues other than omitting this spacer to obtain correct fit. Good product and would highly recommend!
