Super Safety

Review for
AS Designs M2 Super Safety Kit
Ran great in my 7.5 inch AR pistol with an H3 buffer, not so much in my M4A1 clone. Problem is the BCG gets caught up on the lever of the SS. After getting it back into battery, wouldn’t rapid fire so might be a gas problem but I’d honestly just get a cassette drop in FRT.

Put it in my PSA dagger compact frame, nice crisp breaks, feels amazing at the range I’d recommend them.

Good little range toy
Written on Apr 17, 2026
I like it, but only giving 4 stars because I had some issues with it. First off it recommended an H3 buffer.. Trigger wouldn’t reset in 3rd position with the H3 buffer, swapped it out for an H2.
H2 buffer with a nickel boron (full auto profile) BCG, would only fire about 3-4 rounds in the 3rd position before locking up.
Swapped the nickel boron BCG out for a nitride BCG and after that she was running a lot better, not flawless but it finally started cycling through mags. I did have some mags that wouldn’t completely empty but I’d say 90% of each mag I tested would cycle fine. (Standard Pmags worked better than the windowed version)
I’d recommend it, it’s a fun range toy, but this definitely isn’t meant for practical use, too unreliable for s.h.t.f scenarios. But it’ll put a smile on your face when you get it running.
I have it in a 14.5 pin and welded upper from PSA with a CHF barrel (it is over gassed)
Nitride BCG full auto profile
H2 buffer and standard spring
That all being said this is my first FRT, so there’s definitely user error involved and some fine tuning that needs to be done to get it to run just right. But I’d say don’t get disappointed once you throw it in and she locks up on you, just gotta find the sweet spot… and oh yeah… don’t forget the lube ;)

Guard Dog lvl 4+ plates
Written on Sep 06, 2024
Fit very nicely, very sturdy and hopefully everyone that purchases a pair of these only see them being shot in a YouTube video.
All things considered they feel great, but are considerably heavy, they fit very snug inside of my plate carrier (I’m running the crusader 2.0 from redemption tactical) also have a carrier from predator armory that I’ll throw these in at some point.
Pros:
Very sturdy
Comfortable fit
Very snug inside of thin plate carriers
From the day they shipped it took less than 2 days for these to arrive to my house and they were packaged decent enough that I’m confident they weren’t damaged in transit.
Cons: Heavy, Bulky, but with this level of protection that’s expected.
Absolutely recommend, I’m FAIRLY confident these will stop anything you’d encounter on a day to day basis.
I wouldn’t worry too much about these fitting any Gen 4 style IOTV plate carrier, every carrier that I’ve tried putting these in have fit perfectly snug.

Drop in hand guard
Written on Aug 24, 2024
Bought a cheap Anderson Manufacturing starter rifle last year with the typical A2 style furniture. Decided I wanted to update it to be a little more modern for M lok attachments and Optics Planet was the only place I could find this drop in handguard and for an amazing price.
Pros: Very durable, sturdy, directions are pretty straight forward and it’s made in America baby.
Cons: couldn’t find anything I disliked about it, my issue is with the delta ring itself nothing to do with this hand guard.
I was skeptical about ordering from Optics Planet because people tend to complain about shipping times (a lot of back order issues from what I’ve read on Reddit) but my order came in faster than expected through USPS and only had to wait 4 days for everything.
I’m extremely pleased, packaging was extremely professional, and everything came in the mail quick
10/10 optics planet, keep it up!
