Good, Dependable Flashlight
Written on Feb 08, 2022
I got a couple more of these flashlights, and fde this time. They are a solid design, with a good clamping device. If you use things hard or extreme, add blue locking fluid to the clamp bolt. A wonderful, sealed flashlight with nice, redesigned activation switches. As long as the pistol manufacturer sticks to 1913 Picatinny Arsenal or similar design, these inserts will adapt to many pistol models well. Or, some companies 3D print inserts for smaller pistols, such as the Springfield Hellcat TLR 7 Sub 1913 version. A very good product and a good seller in OpticsPlanet.com. I hope they are doing well in Illinois, as they already had to cut back standard capacity magazines because Illinois does not respect the Constitution and Liberties in general. Sorry guys. Maybe move to Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas, or Florida soon and ramp up your sales. Even south in Texas would still facilitate a good location for a central U.S.A. shipping hub. I actually look for good states when ordering, to avoid shipping issues, such as CA and NY have had with thefts recently. (2021) Thanks folks!

Good flashlight, Bad Sig Sauer P365 Rail Dust cover design
Written on Feb 08, 2022
Streamlight has a good flashlight in the TLR 7A and similar. However, Sig Sauer P365 proprietary duct cover rail not using the 1913 Picitanny Aresenal or slimmer design is a bad engineering design. The Glock 43x and 48, along with the Springfield Hellcat, got it right with putting a cutout slot to insert a key into the TLR flashlight to avoid axial movement, along with radial and shock absorbing abilities. I now look to Tactical Development and their rail adaptor and key insert for the Streamlight TLR 7 Sub to improve on the design. I wiggled the P365 TLR 7 and it did not fall off of my pistol. But, it did leave a mark and I did have to add electrical tape shims to fill gaps. It did not inspire confidence in the Sig Sauer P365 rail. Streamlight has redesigned the brackets to make a better product, and the Sig Sauer rail still falls short. I do not blame Streamlight, but instead Sig Sauer for confining all accessory company to a restricted level of quality. Please Sig Sauer, just add a normal rail or slot. Please other grip module companies, add a normal picatinny rail. The flashlight was nice and OpticsPlanet.com gave me store credit after the experience for another flashlight upon return. Thanks to a good company for helping customers, OpticsPlanet.com. This is a wide open door for grip module manufacturers to improve. If you have a 3D printer and insert some metal into the normal front FCU contact/pivot point, then good luck inventors! Thank you.

Got another and working well

Review for
Streamlight TLR-6 C4 LED Weapon Light
This flashlight is easily adaptable to various pistols, and the basic electronic components work well. Good enough brightness to identify in a house or for a small distance, without ruining your night sight. The buttons don't like to be worked really fast. The mount is good, especially since Sig Saur P365 decided to not use a 1913 Picatinny Arsenal or slimmer rail dust cover. Too bad for that. The battery metal cover could probably be a little more robust. As Mrgunsngear said in approximation, "A TLR6 is better than a TLR nothing." The laser is nice also, as Chris Bartocci of Small Arms Solutions says, as it may de-escalate bad situations when a laser is pointed at a bad guy or such. Thank you.

Great Redesign On A Tough, Small Weapon Light
Written on Dec 01, 2020
I have previously reviewed the older version of this light, also with a 5-star review. This light takes the switch to a more useful configuration. Also, it works great with most holsters designed for the older version TLR-7. I find that very useful, especially when my preferred holsters, DoubleClick Holsters SafeCarry Ranger (double retention model), does not need further modification for the new model weapon light. I leave the high switch installed, and it works for both myself and my girlfriend very well. Lumens output, width of bright spot, and distance traveled by light are very acceptable and good. This is especially true if you consider flashlights and weapon lights of just five or ten years ago. I mainly chose this light due to size being small, the main body is aluminum and tough, battery power is CR123A or similar, brand name and reputation of Streamlight, value, 500 lumen output, and my own personal experience with other versions by this company. The small size also equates to a smaller holster footprint, whereas I used to run the TLR-1S and it was much more bulky for the entrance and funnel in specific portions of my holsters. This matters more, in my mind, to Inside the Waist Band carry. I have tried some clamshell designs on weapon lights before, but even the nice ones fall short of a more solid body design, and metal composition. The 1913 Picatinny Arsenal style rail design is also appreciated, or even differently spaced similar designs, such as the Glock or Spr

Great sling
Written on Jan 11, 2020
Review for
Magpul MS4 Dual QD GEN 2 Multi-Mission Sling
This sling has worked very well for me so far. I really like the qd mounts, colors, and the option to use one or two point attachment methods. I don't know which version of this sling I have, as they have changed over the years. I do know that they are of consistently good quality, though, so I have purchased about 10 of them over the years. I usually go with fde, coyote, or other brown or gold colors. I have had no problems from them, and they adjust length easily and quickly. They are wide enough to not dig into your shoulder too bad. The materials seem to be high quality, but I have not tried too hard to break them, but I am also not too gently and easy on them either. I would recommend to a friend.

Very good rifle stock
Written on Jan 11, 2020
I use these every time I upgrade an AR rifle. I like the included qd mounts for each side, as well as the locking buffer tube/receiver extension lever. The option to add a cheek riser is also very useful. The rubber butt pad helps a bit with recoil, and keeping the rifle planted securely in your shoulder while firing with different clothing/uniforms. The plastic is pretty tough, and the position adjusting works well. I like the different color options. I have never received a bad one when I bought one, from any retailer. Optics Planet gives me good deals, and is more legitimate than other online retailers, however. Too bad Illinois limits the magazine sales for them. I would recommend this to a friend. Just be sure that you need this Mil-Spec version, and not the larger, Commercial version when ordering.

Handy, small flashlight
Written on Jan 11, 2020
I use this flashlight almost daily, and it works very well. It fits in a pocket nicely, just like a folding knife would. The battery supply is CR123A, and lasts for quite a long time, though I usually only use it briefly, when I do use it. I like the dim mode, especially when in the woods, for getting back to camp, or as a backup on my ball cap. The tail cap button does act up when the battery is getting low, and the dim mode tries to save the battery for more use when this happens, automatically. I have worn some of the paint off, but I don't mind that too much. I would recommend to a friend. Very useful to mechanics and home repair folks as well.

Useful product
Written on Jan 11, 2020
This product has been very reliable for me. I use it with Magpul slings. It works with other qd brands, as long as they are not too cheap, and they retain good specifications. This is useful for achieving different sling attachment angles, or when you only have 1913 Picatinny type rail mounting options. This has not given me problems so far. I use the yellow or blue locking fluid included, or myself as I switch it from firearm to firearm. I would recommend this to a friend.

Good design
Written on Jan 11, 2020
This product has been well designed to be quite stronger than many Mil-Spec uppers available on the market. The parts are nicely machined, go together well, and the barrel is tough metal and lightweight. When I drilled the barrel for pinning and dimpling a gas block, it was quite tough, and wore out a few bits rather quickly. The parts all functions well together, and are reliable. I had to wait a bit for Aero Precision to make more units to deliver to Optics Planet. I sold the handguard/rail and upper of the enhanced design, however, because my lady did not like the feel of the handguard. I also felt like the torx screws should have larger diameter shafts and heads on them, as I almost stripped several of them when removing parts. I felt like they were strong, once in place, but would eventually break and be stripped as I had to work on the pistol for maintenance or adjustments. I just went with a standard AR upper from Aero Precision, switched the parts, and used a BCM quad rail. That has worked great for me since. Some would like this design more, but I prefer Mil-Spec for the time being. I would not recommend to a friend, in the enhanced version. I would recommend to a friend, in the Mil-Spec version.

Alright product, for the price
Written on Jan 11, 2020
This product has pretty good quality, for the price. I have used them successfully on several 22LR rifles. One went out, and could not be easily fixed. I believe that under harsh use, they may fail more than optics in the $150 range, or higher. I only recommend for a cheap option, or smaller calibers. I do not tend to put these on home defense rifles, but if it is all you have, then go ahead and use them. I get more battery life out of the Holosun, Primary Arms, and Aimpoint models available. Pretty clear and bright internals, lenses, and dots. I like the option of green or red dot, as you choose. I would recommend to a friend, with limitations on harsh use. I am glad someone makes cheap stuff, though, sort of like Hi-Point for firearms, just to be another option for when you are low on money and such, or doing high quantity orders.
