they match the apex barrels!

Written on Dec 20, 2025

If you’re like me and you’re an M&P 2.0 fanatic and have to have everything match to an extent then you’ll know how annoying it can be that Apex Tactical only puts out their Gunsmith fit barrel in a satin steel color vs an all black barrel. While it would be nice and we can dream for the day they release them in all black, for now you can get these cool color matching pins to have somewhat uniform look to your M&P. Not sure if the other reviewers got older models, but these new pins feel high quality, much nicer than OEM; look high quality, the machine work is impeccable and then have really nice divets in the end for push pins to sit in; and they function great - were easy to drive in and stayed in placed for over 400rnds so far. If you want the only true color matching part for your Apex barrel get these pins.

fire! they match the apex barrel perfectly!

The best M&P Backplate there is - Trust Me Bro

Written on Nov 20, 2025

So I’ve tried 6 backplates for M&P: NDZ, Rook, Hyve Technologies, OEM, OEM rubberized, and this one. IMO hands down the best one is this Ed Brown Serrated. The Rook is nice because it’s flat if you like that look, just metal and flat, same with NDZ, but their spacing is a little tighter on Rook. Plus you can have different images on them if you wanted. Personally, I like my backplates serrated because I don’t want anything shining off the backplate, potentially causing a glare to be in my face. The Rubberized OEM backplate coming from the original M&P 2.0 full-size releases with the OG hinged trigger is well, decent, and you can stipple it to match whatever stipple you might have on the frame itself, which is a nice bonus; however, it too can cause minute glares on very sunny days, which is why I just prefer a serrated backplate all day. HIGHLY recommend the Ed Brown serrated even over my beloved tried-and-true Hyve Technologies backplate, which has a great little Hyve logo on it but still doesn’t compete to the serrated backplate.

build quaity is great however they are not POA-POI

Written on Oct 14, 2025

These sights are very well built, and I wanna love them because they have my preferred rear sight style (the Ameriglo style slanted edges instead of rounded edges like the Dawson Precision or Angry Bear Arms sights which I can’t stand). However no matter what I tried they are NOT point of aim - point of impact. Unfortunately it is a 6’ o’clock hold, meaning you have to actually hold the sight below the target point you want to hit, otherwise it’ll hit very high. I tried having a gunsmith file down the sights and blue them so they could be a little lower but alas nothing worked they’re still high, they’re still a 6oclock hold, and for that reason I can’t stand them. I’d would absolutely recommend TAG Precision sights over these any day as the TAG sights are at least POA-POI out to 40yrds. Either tag; or Ameriglo sights as those too are point of aim point of impact to approx 30yrds (although those are night sights and fiber optic) or the Frank Proctor Y Notch sights which are also POA-POI

fantastic feel, and super reliable

Written on Jul 25, 2025

I don’t know how these guys are having so many problems with the striker block, but I’ve gotten 4 TAC trigger kits that included these striker blocks and they ALL have performed flawlessly after thousands of rounds on each. No hitches glitches or whatever they’re talking about. I think these dudes just need to shoot their guns instead of polishing parts. Every Overwatch part I’ve ever used has worked flawlessly and better than any OEM part I’ve used. Have had two OEM connectors snap vs two Overwatch minus connectors that have lasted since they released em. One has over 10K rounds and runs great. That said there is a possibility these individually packaged striker blocks are somehow not the same as the ones that come in the TAC trigger kits, but I highly doubt it. I think if you just put down like 1-2K rounds, these parts will wear in just fine on their own and you’ll have that buttery smooth incredible trigger you want.

works fantastically well

Don’t listen to the other reviewers I’m really not sure what they’re talking about. I’ve had several Hyve branded recoil guide rods and they’ve all performed flawlessly. The button style end provides a nice clean look, and the spring is just as every bit reliable as stock. I feel like none of these people shoot past 5K rounds because if you did you’d really know whether gear will hold up. And everything Hyve I’ve run so far has been excellent with 0 issues.

the best mag release ever made let me explain why

Written on Jan 25, 2025

On a stock G19/45/47etc Gen5 model pistol, this may or may not be the newly redesigned gen 5 variant. Now even tho it might say Gen4, it is not only compatible with Gen4 & 5, but the newest produced ones directly from Hyve Tech have a MM or two extension on the inside lip that catches the magazines. This ENSURES, that the ledge on the plastic magazines from Glock will ALWAYS fully engage and never wear down. Most people don’t comment how metal magazine releases wear down the polymer ledge on a Glock mag meaning that if you eject them over and over again you WILL wear down the ledge making the mags no longer able to stay in the gun. The Hyve Technologies mag releases have taken this into account, and besides the Zev Technologies mag releases, these have the deepest ledge to ensure the proper engagement on the magazines everytime. Trust me I’ve gone through a ton of different mag releases over the years wearing down a ton of different magazines including even a magpul mag which is very difficult to do as their polymer is much denser than glocks. That said, this is now the ONLY mag release I will use besides the plastic Vickers Tactical, and the Gen3 Zev Technologies mag releases. Highly recommend these don’t be fooled by the other reviewers saying it sticks out too much, it’s too easy to actuate… it is not, it’s the perfect size and length and has the bonus feature of not tearing up your OEM Glock mag ledges. Now one reviewer said it didn’t work in their shadow systems pistol.

will not run an M&P without one

Written on Jan 05, 2025

By far this is a mandatory change for me. I like the OEM mag release, but this is so tactile and functional that I literally will not run an M&P without one. HIGHLY recommend
