There are many fancy slings out there. Unless you're going to be doing a lot of clearing then a simple 2-point sling will do the trick. I have this sling on all of my shotguns and rifles. I'm just a simple kind of guy.
I have an ArmaLite AR-10 with stock handguards and sling mounts. I added on a picatinny rail to the bottom handguard for a bipod which I knew would interfere with the sling. So I used this add on and clipped it onto the picatinny rail in back of the bipod. I love it when a plan comes together.
I saw reviews that said it wouldn't line up with the holes. Not the first time in life that I had that problem but as always I made it fit. Probably better that they don't line up perfectly since the screws will be sitting against the sides of the holes in the handguard to make the fit even tighter under fire. That's what she said.
I have way better mounts then this one however, they're triple the price. They are also holding heavy and longer scopes than what I'm using this for. I mounted the Athlon 1-4×24 scope since it is light and small this mount fit the bill. If you're looking to mount an IOR Valdada Terminator then this mount is not for you. But if you're putting a small LPVO on it then it's perfect.
I got this beanie free with the purchase of the Athlon 1 to 4 power Scope. I like it. I'll be wearing it proudly and representing optics planet everywhere I go. If you like showing off and being proud that you get optics and other things from Optics Planet I highly advise getting the beenie.
I plan on using the scope on my M4 carbine. Farthest shot I'll probably ever take with it is 200 yards. I didn't buy this scope for close groupings. My goal is to hit a man-sized target with this scope at 200 yards in shtf scenario. Since that'll be my fathest shot I will never have to worry about making any adjustments with the turrets when zeroed at 50 yards. I don't like using turrets unless I know that they are 100% accurate which I know these aren't going to be, so for an AR 10 I wouldn't mount it. Plus the turrets and dash recticle (only subtensions no numeric value) are in milliradians and I like using moa. So the scope being in Mils wasn't a factor for me since I'll never touch the turrets after zeroing. I purchased this mainly as an upgrade over a red dot, and for targets primarily within 50 yards with the option of longer distances. Having a 4x zoom will definitely give me the ability for more precise shots and target identification more so than just a 2 moa red dot at any distance. Anything farther than 200 yards I will go to my AR-10 which has a 20x42 SWFA scope, no problem sending love out to 850 yards(farthest range near me). Much better quality glass made in Japan and I have a cant with a red dot on it for anything up close. Oh, I also love the illuminated reticle, reminds me of playing a video game like Far Cry. Anything that makes shooting even more exciting and enjoyable definitely gets a thumbs-up from me. I definitely would recommend this scope, especially
I watched a video on YouTube of someone that put this compensator on their 1911 and it looked like there was minimal difference. Thank God I bought the compensator before watching the video, huge difference recoil is like a 9 mm now from a 45 ACP. Highly recommended if using for everyday carry does add a little length than might poke in the wrong places. Just carry the holster higher up for appendix carry.
I have a Holosun HS503bu but wanted another red dot and wanted to buy the Sig Romeo 5 since the Holosun won out the first time I was choosing a red dot. I like the Sig better, why? The battery is way easier to change out and has a big knob not a tray that can easily break and can be opened by hand without tools. The sight was perfectly sighted to a 25 yard zero so I haven't touched the elevation or windage. The only thing the Holosun has that this doesn't is a 65moa larger circle that can be activated. But for $100 less than the Holosun I would definitely buy the Sig Romeo 5. It's home is on a 45° mount on my ArmaLite AR10 and the Holoson got mounted to a Glock 21 Gen 4.
