Most Helpful Positive Review Green laser, Black LG-401G
So far works great! Pros: brighter than red Cons: cost $225 red, $369 green ... lead time 7 mos
Most Helpful Negative Review BEWARE of Crimson Trace
I own five (5) Crimson Trace products. About a month ago, the Green Lasergrip for my Government 1911 quit working. I sent the Lasergrip directly to Crimson Trace for repair or replacement. I was excited when I opened the box, but my jaw dropped when I found they had sent me a RED laser instead of...

Crimson Trace

by Bearhunter, from NC, United States Written on September 12, 2018
Love these grips the green is way better than the red grips. Daylight hrs the green works twice the distance as red. They also look great on gun. Fit was great just replaced stranded grips. Batteries was easy to install into grips.
Pros:
  • Visable laser projection. Light provides view of surrounding area.
Cons:
  • battery life is shorter than red

Works great

by Benjamin Tartaglia, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on April 26, 2018
Was easy to install but I had a problem with sighting in. It appears the instructions have you turn the adjustments the wrong way. This was very strange but once it was solved sighting in was a snap. The adjusting screws are tiny and the wrench seems too flexible. I don't see a reason for it to be so long and the flex in the wrench is such that it is hard to make small adjustments. I assume this wrench is used on all products and is long for this reason. Otherwise it works great and the turn-off switch insures you won't drain the battery when it is stored away. My old eyes aren't too good for iron sights and this is a good alternative.
Pros:
  • Switch to positively turn it off.
  • Green is highly visible.
  • Dot is small enough for precise aiming and sharp
Cons:
  • Adjustments are confusing
Best Used for:
  • Hunting , Recreational shooting

Crimson Laser LG-401 Green

by Ryoiter, from MO, United States Written on April 14, 2018
Great tool for my 45. Like the green over the red. Simple to install and setup. Not had to change the batteries yet but looks to be easy peasy with available batteries. Price was right with a rebate for the red CMR-201. Oh I love that. Really like Optics Planets as they seem to have most everything you might want at mostly good prices.

Love my new grips!!

by Chris, from TX, United States Written on May 29, 2017
I've been looking at these grips for a while and due to a series of fortunate events I was finally able to acquire a set, and they do not disappoint! I had them installed in a few minutes and was then looking at a green dot on my wall (mag out, unloaded, slide back). One of my concerns was whether the button would be easy to press without thinking about it. My mom has one of these grips on her little .380 and it was hard to turn on because my hands are so big. But my concerns were voided once I had them on my 1911. It was just right. The laser is high enough on the grip to be out of the way of my hand, so obstruction is also not an issue. The only thing I'm not sure of yet is battery life, but with lifetime replacement batteries I'll probably just put that on a schedule. So far so good. I like this product and would recommend it to anybody looking for a laser for their 1911.
Pros:
  • Easy install, low profile
Cons:
  • Limited styling

Old Eyes? No Problem...

by Jim, from MT, United States Written on December 22, 2016
I have been a customer for Crimson Trace for a few years now. As I have gotten older, my eyes aren't all that they used to be. I started out with some of their "red" offerings and have moved on to the "green" ones with their higher visibility.

I had no problems with the installation - the module fit perfectly. Since installing it on my Ruger SR1911 (my last "carry" weapon), I have installed it on my Rock Island Armory GI 1911 FS.

They are "pre-sighted" at the factory, but the adjustment tool they provided works flawlessly. Both windage and elevation are easy to adjust, requiring minimal effort.

Crimson Trace has been in the business for awhile, and with product offerings like these, should be around for the foreseeable future.
Pros:
  • look good
  • fit & feel
  • install easily
Cons:
  • Price (but honestly, pretty cheap price considering the quality).
Best Used for:
  • Self / home defense

Nice Grips

by JPH325, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on October 7, 2016
The price was much cheaper than the Crimson Trace website. These laser grips are easy to assemble and work great. I have a Sig Tacops and had to trim the top of the grip slightly to clear the slide. Other than that, all is well.
Pros:
  • Price
  • easy to assemble
  • On and off with no change in zero
Cons:
  • Size for Sig Tacops

Old Eyes...

by Barry, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 6, 2016
When you get old eyes that really can't see the sights very well you need some help and Crimson Trace is just that help. I have these mounted on pistols of all types, some for many years, and never had an issue with any of them.

I love the Crimson Trace product and on the rare occasion when I needed advice and called Crimson Trace I have found them to be extremely pleasant and helpful. The same goes for Optics Planet. Very good companies to deal with.

One downside remark on getting a green laser. It prints your location in the dark unlike red which is virtually undetectable unless you are looking directly at the laser. The green has a distinguishable line that can be seen from any angle and can be followed back to your position.

Fortunately for me this a house pistol so it doesn't make too much difference.

Crimson trace laser site

by Mike, from NH, United States Written on July 31, 2016
The green laser is only visible for just a few seconds when activated. I do not know if the batteries that came with the sites are low but the laser has only been activated for less than 3 to 4 minutes total. I know that green lasers require more energy to light but the batteries should last 2 hours. The sites will be of no use to me if I can not get them to work correctly. In fact they are just plain dangerous.
