Most Helpful Positive Review Master Series Rosewood Lasergrips
I like how the rosewood makes my 1911 look and anyone can install these in seconds with no mods to your handgun, which is a big plus. Also, your natural grip of the handgun turns on the laser, so no fumbling for buttons to press it's automatic with the grip. Pros: Easy installation Cons: none

Very fine laser. Ideal item for an old body slowing down enabling target acquisition much much faster. A great investment!

Good Product

by FyrCapn53, from KS, United States Written on March 30, 2021
It appears my original review did not save the Pros I thought I listed. As stated earlier, I am a 67 yr old, retired, firefighter. Although I hate to admit it, my eyesight, reflexes and physical strength are changing with the calendar. A laser on a defensive handgun can be indispensable to a senior adult. Statistics indicate that most defensive shoots are within 7 yards and in less than 3 seconds. A laser allows faster "target acquisition" than trying to focus on a front sight with aging eyes. Although not the primary purpose, a laser may have a secondary benefit of convincing a threat to stand down. Lasers are not a panacea and should not be relied on as a threat only but with training and practice, they can boost ones self-confidence in facing a life threatening situation.
Pros:
  • Faster Target Acquisition
  • More self confidence
Cons:
  • A bit pricey
Best Used for:
  • Self / home defense

Good Product

by FyrCapn53, from KS, United States Written on March 29, 2021
I own a variety of CTC red and green weapon lasers installed on Glock, Sig, Kimber, Taurus and Ruger handguns. Recently, my Master Series LG-901 (red) also had the rubber protecting the activation pad disintegrate. This particular grip was manufactured 1/2013 and probably purchased that same year. This is my primary EDC and I am sure the rubber protective pad withstood considerable contact. Early March I emailed CTC Customer Support to inquire if the grip could be repaired and that I did not expect it to be warrantied. March 10, received a reply to send requested information regarding the item. I emailed my reply Sunday, March 28 and received their reply today (Monday). As I expected, they said it was out of the 3 yr Warranty and they did not offer repair but would sell me a replacement at a 50% discount and to call them if interested. I called and spoke with a very helpful gentleman and did order a new Master Series LG-901G at the 50% off rate. I initially figured if they could repair the unit for half the cost of a new one, I could live with that. As it is, I am upgrading to a new green laser and still getting a fair price. Their products may be pricier than others but I have no qualms regarding their quality and I am extremely happy with the service I received from their CS Department today. I am a 67 yr old retired firefighter and not independently wealthy but I rely on trusted brands of defensive weapons and accessory companies like Crimson Trace and Surefire...

Failure to Launch

by Texan, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on August 5, 2018
I had this laser grip on my Kimber 1911 5-inch. After a year in the lockbox under my bed, I went to shoot it at the range (I have various handguns and take them all for a spin. Most of them have Crimson Trace grips. The grips on my Sig Sauer P232 failed after two years and my full size Kimber has failed in about the same time period. I made certain the batteries were new and fresh but to no avail.

I think the quality of Crimson Trace has significantly decreased over the last 3 to 5 years. Although I have purchased 5 of their products, I believe prices (and technology) are going to result in me looking elsewhere for my laser products.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • poor quality
Best Used for:
  • target practice

Bought this laser for my Kimber 1911. Wanted something for quick target acquisition and to see where I'm pointed in the dark. Very useful for use on personal defense gun in the bedroom. Great product, easy and quick installation, and cheap price.

CT Master Series

by tnhandgunnner, from TN, United States Written on August 17, 2015
Got a set of these for my carry gun back in June. Super easy to install look really sharp on the gun and most importantly after about 1,000 rounds still working perfectly. They do make the gun a little thicker than the grips that originally came on the pistol but not to the point of making it uncomfortable to shoot.

HOPE THE BAD GUYS DON'T HAVE THESE

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 28, 2013
Have the LG-901's on my Springfield TRP carry gun. Their everything they claim they are. Super accurate, at 30yds can be seen in sunlight. Very easily activated. The best feature-- and I have large hands--Laser is never covered with finger like other manufactures laser sights. Quick sight acquisition with both eyes open for full range of view for other threats. If you want the advantage, these give that to you. Not to mention the great customer service from the Optics Planet customer service reps.
