Bad Larry ! Reliable! Accurate! Rock solid!… heavy. Tough to choose a favorite rifle for me, but it’s probably my favorite. Amazes me every-time I shoot over 100 yards. Shoots flat as can be too. This rifle is American history. Absolutely love the Iraq/afghan era SOCOM stuff!

blessing from god

by Dave, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on December 26, 2024
The title is for any Daniel defense rifle. This is my 2nd Daniel defense upper and I own one other complete Daniel defense Ar as well. You can’t find a better barrel or machined Handguard. The hand guard on the m4a1 Fsp is truly impressive, I feel like you could hammer nails with it all day and not break it. This is quailty that can only be recognize the second you pull it out of the box and hold it in your hands. I have only shot 150 rounds through this upper but have shot about 2000 through my others and have never had an issue. The price is steep for any DD product but I can PROMISE you will not be let down!
Pros:
  • Accurate
  • beautiful
  • Bomb proof quality
  • you can trust your life with it
Cons:
  • Pricey
  • not the lightest upper
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting
  • Home defense
  • safe princess:)

Bomb proof complete upper receiver

by Diego, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on December 3, 2024
Back in 2012, I remember being in the outback's of RC South in Maiwand Afghanistan. The BlockII upper made its appearance in our Combat Outpost. It was a sturdy upper with the Daniel D rails. I ordered this upper with nostalgia from days gone past. When it arrived at my door step I was worried that I should've order the flat top verson. I took the upper to the range and without any issues I was engaging targets just like I used too in days past. The FSP made it easier for me to pick up and dail on my targets.
Pros:
  • FSP no need to buy sights
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Duty Use or Ready Rifle

Great for my M4A1 Block 2 Build

by IT-Gunner, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on April 5, 2024
This is definitely a quality upper. Well built and nicely finished. I did swap the rear sight for a Matech, and I swapped the dust cover for a standard AR cover, but other than that it was a drop in, snug fit with my Franklin binary lower.
Pros:
  • Fit & feel great
  • Finish and machining is high end
Cons:
  • None for me

She's a Heavy Girl

by Migo, Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on March 3, 2024
The biggest draw for this upper is the famously bomb-proof RIS II hand guard, and after playing with it some I can see why it has this reputation. The barrel has shot well, and is likely more accurate than I am. Carbine gas is carbine gas, and just as she's a heavy girl, she's also a pushy girl. An H1 buffer calms the recoil impulse down some. For someone interested in mounting lasers, lights, and other doodads onto this rail, I can be certain that there will be very little, if any, shifting from this rail that would affect zero (if you believe that that's even a problem to start with). The Daniel Defense BCG is a smooth operator and the Grip-N-Rip charging handle is a nice touch. Good quality upper. A touch pricey, and you could probably replicate something VERY close to this for less. That being said, I'm happy with my purchase.
