nothing screams "frivolous spending of disposable income by a right-leaning 2A enthusiast" quite like the purchase of a tactical vest by someone who is not remotely involved in the military nor law enforcement. independently wealthy man of leisure that i am, i've wanted one of these bad boys for years. the multitude of options seemed overwhelming and prior experience (see also: air-soft models are often sized for children, but make great gifts for wee friends) had taught me to remain hesitant. the only thing worse than shelling out major shekels for something i'll never need is doing so for th...

Questionable Designed, Exposed Trigger, and Made in Vietnam

by Jake De Muss, Verified Owner from New Zealand Written on December 11, 2025
Like the previous reviewer, I also have a Sig P320 X5 with a TLR-1 HL light and the pistol would barely fit the holster If you tightened the holster too much, you can't draw the pistol. If it fits loosely, you'll expose the trigger. Also, the thumb-break strap and elastic security strap are constantly in the way when you re-holster, so you'll have to be extra careful.

The pistol mag pouches are too small and will only hold a 15 round and 17 round mags when closed, but nothing bigger.

Overall, good $50 vest, but I would pay $150 for an imported vest.

Backwards zipper

by ArmyStrong, from WA, United States Written on October 17, 2021
Unless you sent me a "womans version" where the zipper is on the wrong side, I'd say this vest sort of sucks if you need to put it on in a hurry. You'll be fumbling with the zipper for a good minute if rushed. Sure, I can practice zipping up a backwards zipper but why do that when there are plenty of other products out there that dont require you to retrain years of muscle memory.
Pros:
  • durable
  • expandable
  • Left and right zipper pockets for kevlar if you want
  • Back internal pocket for kevlar pocket
Cons:
  • Zipper is backwards
  • Should have gotten left handed draw so the mag pouches are more accessible with left hand while shooting
  • Holster has no quick release on pistol retention strap
Best Used for:
  • fun

Elite Survival Systems MVP vest

by Warren Phillips, from PA, United States Written on October 4, 2020
It’s now October 4th and I still haven’t received my vest. How’s that for a review. I hope others aren’t having this problem. Product has been paid for and I still haven’t received product. Would be helpful if I was contacted and advised of any problem company may be experiencing.

Perfect for Weirdos

by BrazilianWaxAndTheBananaHammock, Verified Owner from ND, United States Written on July 29, 2020
I'm a weirdo. The right hand is for pistols, the left for rifles (eye dominance).

This is one of the few vests that is truly ambidextrous in design. The shoulders aren't built up with buttstock pads or extra pouches nobody really needs. That's my problem with most tactical vests / chests rigs: too many places to put stuff and not enough places to carry what you need. This one takes the cake.

The pouches it does include are well thought out, and this works perfectly to make magazines readily available to my natural goofy needs in competition. Rifle mags are ready for speedy reloads from my right hand, and the pouches fit six of them perfectly (as advertised). Once the shoulder fit is adjusted (long torso), the hand naturally finds them. Best of all, the offset of the mag carriers doesn't interfere with going prone (unless you're a belly-flopper) when running with the vest open, adjusted so the zipper doesn't connect. This isn't an issue at all if you have it secured to your gun belt: the two clips cinch it down just right.

The pistol holster is well designed and fits a wide range of weapons, with or without tac lights. It's easily adjusted and comes with two retainers: a speed bungee and a plastic clip. When running with the vest open like I prefer, the draw is perfect to access over a rifle carried on a two point. The pistol mag carrier is in a great location for easy access to reloading without much fuss.

Some have complained about the lack of velcro on the pistol mag po...

Small mag pouches

by Richie, from PA, United States Written on September 18, 2019
I carry an X5 and 21 round magazines don’t even come close to fitting in the pouch. Other than that it’s a nice vest, however I don’t think it’s any different from other vests I’ve seen that sold for $40-50.

Great starting vest

by Beastlybennet, from WA, United States Written on February 6, 2018
Vest is good quality mesh, extremely adjustable shoulder straps. The only thing I would change is the holster because it can not be moved along with the other paunches on the vest. Good starting vest but I am going to get another one as well

Tactical Magic!

by StarLord, from CA, United States Written on January 24, 2017
Well what a vest we have here man the price is a little high but I'm Convinced on the quality don't be fooled by the UTG brand or Norinco those suck. The amazing room for storage is a winner, and I'm a pretty tall guy at 6,3" this came adjusted for a small man but thankfully it was not that much of a pain to adjust for myself. Just make sure when you order your vest you remind yourself to buy the one in which you like to draw out your gun. The holster is sowed on and can only be adjusted to hold the firearm and not to be removed. You do get everything in the picture except for the obvious fake gun. The back of your vest won't come with any extras but man the mole set up and velcro slits make it so you can add all your extra goodies, all in all this is a great vest to start with for any application.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Military

A worthy accessory with many uses.

by Scott, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 29, 2016
I walk 5 miles a day 3-4 days a week in an urban setting. You'd think I would have no need for a "tactical" vest and you would be wrong. I have been set upon by 5 determined (one viscous) dogs in the past year. I used to just change my route through the neighborhood, but there are unattended dogs everywhere. Didn't help at all. So, I took to carrying pepper spray, a good folding knife, a good fixed blade knife (horizontally) and my carry piece. Plus my cell phone. All of this equipment was somewhat bulky and spread out.
Enter the MVP Vest. There are pockets and pouches for everything as well as various ways to hang a fixed blade knife horizontally. I had to rig a "cover" for the holster which wasn't hard to do and now I can't be accused of open carry. Everything being carried close to center mass makes walking easier (I use trekking poles)and much more comfortable. Every item can be reached easily and quickly. I love this vest!
Pros:
  • comfortable to wear
  • Adaptable
  • Unobtrusive
  • Lightwieght
  • Looks Really Good
Cons:
  • takes time to set up
Best Used for:
  • whatever you need
