Most Helpful Positive Review These are the BEST!
I'm a Biker who uses an open face helmet... and I also wear bifocals. Finding a pair of goggles that work well with glasses is TOUGH. The ESS Striker series solves the problem instantly. Easy on and easy off, without your glasses getting stuck inside of the frame. The folks at ESS say that the Defense Department specifies these goggles for issue to troops who wear prescription glasses; I can see why. they're no hassle at all with my frames. My only complaint is the cost; these were clearly designed for Uncle Sam's appropriation money, not for the civilian market... but, you get what you p...

Great Product, Wrong Application

by Bobguz, from FL, United States Written on November 4, 2025
Quite a few years ago a Japanese optics maker was closing its Custom Shop in Miami. I was able to buy one of their rifle scopes at a greatly discounted price. I didn't have any use for it until recently when I became interested in NRA Class F, Long Range Target Shooting. I mounted the unused, Custom scope on my 6.5 mm center fire rifle and everything looked good, ...until I pulled the trigger. The recoil pushed the scope's eyepiece and my shooting glasses into the bridge of my nose and drew blood. Backing my head away from the eyepiece to increase eye relief narrowed my field of view and blurred the image, ...and I was now flinching. Our Range Officer suggested I try googles. I shopped and bought, "ESS Land Ops Striker Goggles". The goggles fit great and are very comfortable. But the padding that I need prevents the close approach required for a full field of view to an eyepiece that has offers only minimal eye relief. I had to return the very nice, "ESS Land Ops Striker Goggles" as incompatible with my application.
Pros:
  • very comfortable
  • Quality materials and construction
  • clear and distortion free
Cons:
  • unique to my needs
Best Used for:
  • skiing
  • shop work

Comfortable Range Gear

by Johnny Detroit, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on May 29, 2024
These goggles are large enough to wear glasses as well. This is helpful to me. Its still a little tight, but I can handle it for the amount of time I spend at the range. I like the extra lens that comes with these goggles, it is tinted for outside use. That makes these goggles versatile, thus saving money. No need for two different pairs of eye protectioon. They are comfortable, and I recommend picking them up.
Pros:
  • Versatile
  • Comforatble
  • afforable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • range & target shooting

"Precription Eyewear" means "contacts"

by Kai, from GA, United States Written on August 13, 2020
These goggles seem great. Not ideal for my purposes, but there are two important things I learned:

These goggles do NOT work over my eyeglasses. The description says they're for use over "prescription eyewear." This must mean contact, or glasses with very small profiles. These goggles did NOT fit over my glasses.

Also, at the tightest setting, the strap barely fit my head. That might not seem problematic except that I wear an XL hat. My head is enormous and these goggles barely stayed on my bare head. It seems they're designed to work in combo with a helmet.

If you wear a helmet, and don't wear glasses, this could be great for you.

Good google for those on a budget

by Tung Fighter, from CO, United States Written on August 11, 2020
Google fit and field of view are great. Comfortable if worn for extended time. Anti fog works well with physical exertion. Dual lenses are a bonus. Planned use is for work but will serve as a nice backup if you wind up turning the corner into a cloud of tear gas or murder hornets - 2020 makes us all redefine our tactical kit contents.

  • Stops particles
Cons:
  • fit is not correct
  • Fit is not that good for over ur glasses
Best Used for:
  • Mowing

  • smoke lens included
Cons:
  • cost-but worth it

ESS Land Ops Striker Goggles

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 27, 2010
These goggles are supposed to fit over normal eyeglasses. I could get them over my average size glasses, but it was difficult. They pressed the glasses into the bridge of my nose. Not very comfortable. If you are going to wear them over eyeglasses, I would recommend a very small lens type. I marked yes on whether to recommend them, but I was really on the fence about them.
