Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent, but won’t work for me: see below
Well made, very comfortable. It sits on an already incredible CORE GL buttstock. BUT it Won’t work for me for two reasons. 1: blocks charging handle in AR15 if but stock is more than halfway collapsed. 2: raises eye too high and outside of viewing window for my Primary Arms 5x prism scope on a stand...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not good for short length of pull
The positives: It is well constructed of quality materials. It fits onto the FAB Defense stock very securely. It adjusts well and overall this works as a cheek riser. The negatives: If you have a short length of pull and keep the stock on position one or two this will interfere with the charging...

Cheek riser height

by Kevin, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on May 23, 2025
You can buy the GL Core stock and this riser separately for a combined price that is less than if you buy it in one assembly (especially is you want to mix colors like I did with a black riser on a FDE stock). Beware this riser is high. It’s too high to use with my scope and mount (A Burris P.E.P.R. cantilever mount). I ended up taking the riser off and won’t use. Also, the tilt up design in the front is not that great and wouldn’t stay locked in position if you needed to use it.

Great Product

by Scott, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on January 20, 2025
I purchased this because I really liked the way it looked in combination with the GL-M buttock. Having received both and confirming that indeed it is an awesome looking product I also realized that it wouldn’t work with my setup as it threw off my line of sight with my optics. So sadly I had to remove it. So I guess I will just have to build another setup just so I can use it. But seriously recommend these products they are great.
Pros:
  • Great looks and functionality
Cons:
  • none so far

Very strong

by John, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on December 29, 2024
I'm guessing this will only work with other FAB stocks but the piece is very sturdy and gave me the right cheek height for higher profile Red Dot sights.

Nice for raised dots

by Jason, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 19, 2024
I’ve been toying with some cheek risers, which for me are most useful for raised red dots. This one is no different in that respect. It gives me a very comfortable, quick, and easily repeatable cheek weld for the piggyback dot I have on top of the lpvo I have on the rifle this riser is on. The only drawback for this riser that I’ve identified so far is that it is pretty long, which makes it difficult to get down into the eyebox of the lpvo if I don’t have the stock extended to the last or second-to-last slot. Not a big deal for me because I usually pull it out to the second-to-last, but if you’re using this type of setup and like a shorter length of pull, this riser may not be for you. I have not had any issues with it getting in the way of the charging handle.
Pros:
  • ergonomic
  • Comfortable
Cons:
  • locks you in up high
  • unique look (not necessarily bad)
Best Used for:
  • Raised sights

used the riser for a chassis bolt gun with med/high rings worked good for me.

by sharpshooter33, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on April 3, 2024
put the riser on my GL-impact on a chassis bolt rifle. it allowed me to run Med/high rings and gave me a comfortable cheek weld. If you need a little height to get a better cheek weld to a scope I would recommend picking one up. Buy it separate from the Core-Buttstock save $$$. Buying together is almost twice the price.
Pros:
  • better cheek weld for higher scope
Cons:
  • really not adjustable
Best Used for:
  • higher scope cheek weld

Great stock! No slop

by Goose, from TN, United States Written on December 15, 2023
I put this stock on several platforms. On my PTR 32/91 with an AR adapter it helps establish a better line of sight and cheek weld. On my side charging ARs it takes out the slop that you experience with other types of stocks. I also have this on my Umarex Javalin Pro which has the same issue as the PTRs. This is my go to stock. Try one. At the prices Optics Planet sells these stocks try several!
Pros:
  • Fit and ergonomics
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • G3 clones or side charging ARs

Excellent product, but not for AR platform

by Chris, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on June 26, 2022
This addition is rock solid and super tight, no wobble, looks great. However, the cheek height, even at its minimum is too high for an AR with a scope ring height in the typical range of 1.5-1.7". This is perfect for an AK.

Cheek weld too high

by Jeremiah, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on March 24, 2022
It's a great looking product when installed with the matching buttstock, but the cheek weld is way too high. I can't imagine this working very well on any AR, unless your optic is mounted super high. Maybe a better fit for an AK configuration which typically has a lower set stock relative to the top rail of the firearm.
