Beautifully made. Very comfortable in the cross draw position. Holds the weapon securely. A little difficult to weave the belt thru the holster and the pants belt loop simultaneously.

The Galco Yaqui Slide Belt Holster is just as I expected. It is quick and easy to put on a belt, is easily adjustable to hold the pistol with whatever tension you desire, and provides for a smooth draw and easy re-holstering. It holds the pistol a bit away from my body, which makes the pistol very easy to grasp and draw, but also makes it not particularly concealable, so it is better suited for open carry.

One word of caution: this holster places the exposed muzzle right at the position where my right hand is when my arms are at my sides. It is very easy to inadvertently put my fingers directly in front of the muzzle, which is never a good idea! This is just a natural property of this type of holster design, and not a defect. But it is something to be aware of, and it may take a bit of practice and focus at first to remember not to accidentally get your fingers in front of the muzzle.

First I ordered a cheaper brand off Amazon to see if I would like how a Yaqui rides and functions. Chinese prison labor is not what it used to be, and I feel bad that some poor pangolin gave up his hide to make that thing. The Galco is better leather, better fitting, and the tension hardware works better. Definitely worth the small premium over the cheapies. I wanted my pistol to ride a little deeper so I totally removed the upper tension screw and insert. Even with that hardware removed, the Galco has pretty good retention for a Yaqui, and better than the other brand with both tension screws in place and adjusted. It rides slightly farther out than a pancake holster, but a 1911 is slim enough that it's a similar concealment profile to a double stack pistol in a pancake, which is good enough for an OWB holster. It's spectacular as a range holster when concealment is no concern and you just want a reasonably secure way to move around without setting your pistol down. As always, Optics Planet shipped quickly and it delivered in perfect shape.

Ordered Friday, Optics Planet shipped within hours. I like it. I had ordered and returned another brand from another dealer, and the Galco is noticeably better fitting with more retention than you’d expect. I haven’t touched the adjustment screws yet so there is room to snug it up if it stretches over time. My Andrews is a thumb break pancake so this is a nice light alternative for my LW Commander.

The Galco Yaqui slide holster would not hold my 1911A1 securely. One of the tension screws would not engage so it just turned with no tightening effect. Very disappointing. So now this good looking quality leather holster is relegated to holding a CO2 air pistol.

I love this versatile little holster. It's great for range days and works for both my 1911s and my Browning Hi Powers. It's made of durable material and I expect it to last quite a while. I was a little skeptical at first, because it's so lean, but it works like a charm and really secures even my big 45s with rails.

This holster seems to work Ok. It hugs you side which is a good thing. It is suppose to fit various weapons and it has to be ajusted for each one. I would rather have a holster to fit each one just like this. Thanks.

Enjoy this style of holster for its sleek look and comfort. Stays tight to the fit of the weapon. Conceals nicely with just a T-shirt, I'm very active and don't have to worry about it falling out when roughhousing.

Another outstanding product from Galco. OP pricing was best found and shipping (FREE) was very prompt. Holster works very well on both 1911 G and 1911 C models with very good retention and comfort. This is a minimalist holster offering ready access to firearm with least bulk and weight yet provides secure hold of 1911.
