Most Helpful Positive Review Superb BCG

I have become a big fan of Griffin gear in the last few years so when I needed a new BCG I decided to give this one a try. This is just a nothing fancy, squared away bolt carrier group. Has the MPI marking and a good looking Griffin winged lion logo. I am always skeptical of any BCG that does not be...

Most Helpful Negative Review Functional but Photo Misleading

This BCG seems functional enough but mine appeared used out of the box. It is NOT shiny as pictured. The finish is matte. The griffin insignia is nearly black. I am not sure if it is worn off or if it is supposed to be that way. I am severely disappointed because I ordered this brand specifically fo...

excellent.

by Rick Sprock, from TN, United States Written on August 26, 2026

I run my guns pretty wet for function, and reliability that has to be there. I sometimes run them fast, long, and really hot. Flawless reliability is all I I'll settle for. The Griffin bcg that I received is a beautiful black, with the gold Griffin logo and a great black nitride finish. After I ran several hundred rounds with never a single failure of any type, I bought another one as a gift for my son. A couple of years have gone by now and they have never ever had a failure of any type. I'm buying another one for another gun now. I just wanted to assure folks that this bcg has been excellent. Buy one and run it wet.

Solid BGG for the money

Bought this BCG for a forced reset trigger build. Now at over 3,000 rounds on it and no complaints. It does what it's suppose to.

A new standard for me

by Chuck, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 12, 2026

Since I’ve had such a positive experience with this BCG, I now start all my builds with one. So far, none have failed me and all of them have been the perfect pair with any type buffer system I use. That includes 556/223 and 300AAC. I do use other brands and models for competitive builds or FRT builds, but for a standard AR15, you can’t go wrong with this BCG IMO.

Pros:

price and quality

Cons:

none so far

Best Used for:

Basic AR15 builds

functional, mil spec bcg

by SixStringNinja, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on May 24, 2026

Performance has been good so far, it does the job. Gas key is staked properly, no leaking. Not too sure about their coating process. There are visible wear spots in the coating after 120 rounds. Like the other reviews mention, it doesn't really look like the photo, it's not shiny.. It's a functional, mil spec bcg

my very early review

by Joshua, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on May 14, 2026

Haven’t had much time sending freedom seeds down range with this BCG in my 10.5 build but I can saw that the gas key is well staked, no burrs, finish is good and easy to wipe clean. The firing pin was not stainless steel but worked fine. Sent about 200 rounds of 5.56 PMC 55 grain and some Hornady Black 62 grain. Cycled well. I matched it up with my Griffin MK2 lower. Like the logo but when dirty you can’t see any BCG logos especially shooting suppressed. Great buy for the price.
