Purchased this safe in 2015. Safe has had numerous problems, but I was always able to "just make it work". I have found that I had to replace the batteries monthly, and the last time I went to the safe it would not open. I replaced the batteries again...lock beeps when I hit the buttons...but will not open. I was able to finally open the safe, and then I called Gun Vault Customer Service. The technician said that there are no replacement parts for the safe! I ask if there is another lock I can switch it out for...no. My next comment was "so I literally have a big, expensive paperweight", to which he responds "Yes". Are you kidding me? Please tell me someone knows of a replacement locking mechanism...the answer can't seriously be "throw the safe away"?

I just received my safe that I bought at a very discounted cost, with no shipping fees. The reviews all said problems were with the sipping and electronics, so beware. I figured that if this thing worked it would be perfect for my needs, so I gambled the $210 (that included free shipping, it also got to my front door, from the curb, up a flight a stairs, within a week). The keypad had been damaged during shipping but still worked. The metal box and door was better than any <$800 safe I ever owned, and I only wanted it to hold one semi-auto shotgun, with a light and a side saddle, and physically its great, even the paint job was good. Even though it still operated, I didn't feel like betting my life on it, so I figured no big loss. But I called customer service, the link provided http://www.gunvault.com/contact/ ,anyway and the guy who answered the phone (David) spoke perfect English, made sure of the model and told me that he was sending an entire new keypad assembly, bezel and all. It would be at my place within a week at no cost to me. And even though the model was discontinued, the company offered lifetime service and guarantee. Guys (and gals) if you are just looking for a place to keep a hot long gun for home defense and want to keep out smash and grab crackhead thieves (it would take more than just a pry bar and hammer to get into this thing) and curious children, this is a sore d*ck deal, you just cant beat it. It's cheap. But it'll serve it's purpose. It definitely needs to get bolted to the floor or wall. I would recommend something a little more expensive with a nicer interior. The shelves aren't really ideal for stocking much more that two rifles and a pistol or two. I bought it for quick access hombre defense.

I purchased and installed this product in my master closet 2 1/2 years ago. It has been very reliable and gives me great piece of mind knowing I have ready access to 2 long arms just feet away from where I sleep. This is not a substitute for a true gun safe. I have a gun safe but it is too large to install in my closet and takes longer to access. The benefit to the TacVault is it does not take up much room and incorporates easily in my closet. Buyers should keep in mind that it must be secured to the floor and/or wall with fasteners if you want it to work as intended. It is very fast to access and is quiet when opened. Downsides are few for this unit. The included foam cradle which installs with adhesive backing does not remain in place by itself and must be reinforced to be usable. When used by itself with the included adhesive backing it will slowly migrate causing your long arms to shift out of position over time. I easily fixed this using liquid adhesive to lock it down. If the electronic lock should fail for any reason, there is no backup means to access the safe. So far this has not been a problem but may be more of a consideration for some people. You may want to add a light inside the unit, but this is easy to do if desired. I am overall happy with this product and have no regrets about buying it.

TacVault weapon locker is an excellent product for improved safety and security and more so for its rapid access to weapons or any other equipment by its use of an electronic combination. Tacvault is not designed for fire protection, however, it is perfectly suited for instant access to any items, especially where space is a premium. The slim line design of TacVault still allows for at least two rifle/shotgun combinations and a shelve for other items such as ammunition, flashlight, or other important items. TacVault is predrilled so it can be anchored to the floor. While this is not required it is highly recommended. TacVault is a fantastic functional product for specific needs, and especially for homeowners looking to secure a firearm and have instant access should a need ever arise.

For the money it's a pretty good safe. The only real issue I had is the instruction manual. They had clockwise and counter-clockwise backwards. Where it says one, do he other.  Not sure if it would stop a real "bad guy" but it will certainly protect my grandchildren.

Originally bought this safe to store .50 cal ammo cans in. I found out that even though the internal dimensions are large enough the opening isn't wide enough. it will however fit 2 30 cal ammo cans next to each other plus extra space to store boxes of extra ammo. This safe does live up to its description and what it was designed for. it's light weight and small size allow it to be moved with ease and placed anywhere you may need it.

Shipped fast and the safe fits nicely in my closet. It is of solid construction and good for those who want to conserve space.

Currently, I use it for shotguns and it works nicely. FYI - The shelf is not used (gets in the way).

It does exactly what I wanted it to do. Looks great and operates as it should for a closet quick access safe. I will buy again soon for each level of the house. Fits ar15 with mag , no problem, and tall enough for a shot Gun too.

This fault is perfect for fitting in the closet and giving better protection then a low to medium cost gun cabinet. I recommend it
