Gun safe installation
Easy to install. Easier to set up bio metrics! Took no time mounting the brackets and connecting the safe. Easy install on battery. Simple set up on the biometrics. Took no time at all. Love the light in the safe to help at night

Bad Finger Print Reader
I have the GunVault MVB500 Pistol Safe MicroVault Biometric and the finger print reader is not reliable at all. I don’t feel very safe if I cannot Accsess my gun when it’s needed. I called and the warranty is only good for 1 year and no parts are offered to correct the problem. I have replaced the batteries and deleted my finger print and reinstalled a new one several times and it times out before opening. I will throw it away and buy another Brand.

Great no problem w biometric
This is awesome for the bedroom. Mounting takes a little work but once it’s in it’s solid. I use my own screws and anchors to make it stronger but I’m sure what came in the box works as well. Does a great job. Opens everytime.

Great vault
Purchased biometric vault a few months ago. Installation was simple and leaves a clean look. Have used it quite a lot to test to see if I will get any failures to open with programmed finger print or improperly open if use an unauthorized fingerprint. So far seems to work properly. I am able to store a Glock 19 with a streamlight tlr 1 light on it and an extra magazine. (magazine goes under grip between foam insert. No need to cut foam. Fit for gun and magazine is snug but no problems taking out or placing in. Only issue I had was instructions for programming fingerprints was confusing in relation to how to and location of buttons. Simply watched a YouTube video and than was simple. To date extremely happy with product.

Biometric Scanner is very Temperamental
I received this as a Christmas present last year and have used it all year. I should have returned it for something else but really fought hard to like it...to no avail... the safe works great to "keep little" hands away from my weapon, but I am concerned that in a time of crisis I would result to my back-up in another location. the Biometric scanner is just not dependable. I am retired military and so I understand the necessity of muscle memory. That's why I have attempted to practice opening this device at least 3 times a week. most times it takes me 3 swipes of my thumb for it to successfully read, sometimes it doesn't read it at all.
Bottom Line: Do NOT buy this safe until they have perfected the fingerprint scanner.

Outstanding Gun Vault
The Biometric GunVault is a perfect investment for anyone looking to have a safe place to secure a handgun.
Just take your time when reading the instructions on how to program the fingerprint reader and you should be good to go. We have two of them and they are worth every dollar spent.

Good product
Works as expected. In just about two seconds you can have access to a handgun. We installed ours in the kitchen, on the side of the counter. Lets us keep a gun (G36) in the center of the house at all times and secure from the kids. Programing the finger prints is easy, just follow the instructions. The included screws are for wood only, if you plan on mounting it to a wall/drywall you will need your own hardware. Overall we are very happy with the product.

GunVault SpeedVault Biometric - opening delay
GREAT product. Only two slight criticisms. There is a slight delay between pushing the activation button and scanning your fingerprint that I find undesirable. When seconds count, you don't want to sit around waiting for a green light before you can scan your finger.
Hardware - I would use the supplied hardware for installation. It would take a thief with a crow bar about 30 seconds to pop this thing off from wherever you mount it if you use the hardware provided. Think about beefing up the hardware when you install this product.
Really like the opening speed (once you get past the slight delay). Hands you the gun in the draw position which is always a nice benefit. Powder coating seems to be very thin or just paint. Wish that was a little tougher, but I'm knit picking. All in all, good value for the money. Buy one!

Consider the keypad version
I hate to write a bad review but this has left me a little disappointed.
The biometric does not work as well as I had hoped. With multiple learning inputs of one finger, actually getting this thing to open with one swipe has not been easy. There is some timing to the speed of the finger swipe. However, my friends (same model)safe works fine.
Also if you have a beavertail Sig P226/P229, the safe will not close if you have a surefire light attached. There is not enough depth.

Unsafe safe.
If you need access to your handgun quickly, this is likely NOT a "safe" option. The biometric reader in the one I received was/is inoperable on anything close to a consistent basis, and there is a very real chance that in an emergency it will not open. Mine is actually empty right now, although it does come with a key lock too so there's that anyway. Not what I thought I was getting, because if this was known to me I'd have simply used the free lock most firearms ship with. Do not assume it will work like your iPhone, because it absolutely is not even close to that standard of reliability, not by a long shot. Compounding that is the difficulty in the return process... the warranty card that I sent it actually came back as UNDELIVERABLE. Their own warranty postcard with their pre-printed address on it. Unbelievable.
Best Used for:
- paperweight,...nope, wouldn't work there either
- paperweight or storage
