Pretty but...

by Toophless, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on January 26, 2025
Like another reviewer stated, the design isn't great. As you tighten the screw, the two-piece grip starts to split side to side. The leather is holding the sides together at that point. I'm not going to give up on it though. I may break it down and epoxy the two halves together if that is possible. I got the light tan "natural" version as the dark brown was out. I used a heat gun and Sno-Seal, then Mink oil which gave it a much nicer, richer look. The grip feels nice and offers plenty of purchase. Not sure if that would be true if it got wet. I like the storage option though it is small. Two 5.56 rounds will probably fit. It just needs to be built in one piece or use some sort of fasteners to hold the two halves together. If my epoxy trick works I'll re-review it. I mean, it works and it would probably get some props at the range, but I wouldn't want to depend on it long-term. If I decide to make one of my ARs a wall-hanger behind the bar, I might put it back on then. On a gun-wall it would be sharp. I don't have a gun-wall. Yet.
Pros:
  • Aestetically pleasing
Cons:
  • design flaw
Best Used for:
  • A prop or display use.

Looks great, feels great.

Just installed, not been out test it as of yet. Overall looks great with the leather wrap, held in place by a set screw inside the grip. Leather appears to be a simple replace if or when needed, I'd just add some paracord when time comes. Not sure how long the leather will last. Looks and feels good.

Badass looks, sub-par strength

by BG, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on September 24, 2024
Ordering the Hera dark brown leather grip was no problem. Package arrived quickly with no blemishes or issues. I installed without a problem on my Spike's Tactical Jack-10. The grip got nothing but compliments as far as looks are concerned. I liked the look and feel as well. I did not like the polymer since it had a bit of wiggle. So nothing technically wrong with it, looks great, performs fine, personal preference will be to swap out for an aluminum grip.
Pros:
  • Looks great , Easy installation
Cons:
  • Flimsy
Best Used for:
  • Looking awesome at the range and social media.

Poor assembly

by Rmm984, from FL, United States Written on March 20, 2023
Concept is good and I really like the fit and function of the similar VFG. The issue is the poor design. The two halves are secured together by the leather wrap. When you tighten the grip down sufficiently enough to remove any play, it begins separating the halves and creates a gap.
Pros:
  • Leather wrap grips well
Cons:
  • feels cheap
  • Tightening compromises structure
  • Notable seam in middle
