Great Optic
The 509T does everything thing you would expect but what your really paying for in this device is the titanium and fully enclosed optic adding durability.
The main reason for writing this review is Holosun excellent customer service. After mounting optic I was messing around with the optic and bat...

Dissapointed with disappearing dot
Bought this a couple months ago, after seeing nothing but glowing reviews. I also wanted an enclosed emitter rds. The circle dot reticle is great, especially for those who have never used a pistol mounted optic before. Long story short, I put less than 100 rounds on this optic. The dot in the reticl...

Great for duty carry.
For the money you can’t beat the Holosun with this enclosed emitter. The reticle is crisp. I typically use circle-dot for duty carry where quickly holding over a torso size target out to fifty is an easy hit, but I’m also kind of an Eotech fanboy. Durable, accurate, easy to zero, easy to mount, battery has lasted 4ish months so far. Literally no complaints.
Pros:
- Ease of use
- durable
- good value
Cons:
- Made in China
Best Used for:
- duty carry

Duty use ready
Purchase this optic, mounted it on Glock model 45 with CH base plate, sited it in and took it to a red dot instructor class. During the 3 day class, the complete weapon system was flawless and my estimated round count was over 1200 rounds during the class. The optic appears to be sturdy and point of impact never shifted. No issues whatsoever, even when subjected to water purposely poured over the lenses prior to shooting and setting the optic up for failure drills. The instructor uses this exact same optic on an STI staccato, which he carries on duty for a police department. So far nothing but praise for this optic, CH base plate and Glock model 45 pistol combination.

Great enclosed reddot option
No complaints. Works great so far. Great quality at this price point and seems to have more options / features than the much pricier aimpoint ACRO. Simple to use and setup, very user friendly and glass is decent / clear.

Great sight, I should have read the details more closely
This is a great little sight and certainly an awesome upgrade for a pistol or even a carbine. It's clear, the reticle is clean and has a couple of different options in terms of design. It's a very compact sight and feels like it'll be very tough. I like the auto-off and shake-awake technology, I turned it on and then just stopped thinking about it. Perfect. I'd thought, in fact I'd have sworn, that when I looked it up it said the mounting clamp machined into the base would grab a pic rail. IT DOES NOT. Naturally, someone asked that very question in the reviews and I didn't look it up until after I'd received mine. It would have been perfect mounted directly to the rail atop my new Volquartsen pistol, allowing me to co-witness the iron sights, but no, it doesn't even remotely mount to a picatinny rail without an adapter. Fortunately I found one, and while it's now got an ugly mount that raises the sight too high for co-witness, it's still great. I'm not sure why Holosun felt the need to machine a mount into the body of their sight that's apparently completely proprietary, but it is what it is. I'd certainly recommend it if you can find a nice, low-profile mounting option for whatever you want to attach it to.
Pros:
- visibility

- mounting

Like a mini EOTech but with more features.
Mounted this on the top of the RCO of one of duty use AR's. Really like the closed unit over an open one like an RMR. No worries about dirt or mud getting in or the lenses fogging up.
The circle reticle also makes getting the sight centered on target fast. I found using the bottom of the circle also gives you a precise point of aim point of impact at around 15yds in this mounting configuration.
The shake awake feature is also something I've really grown to appreciate on all my serious duty use weapons.
The auto brightness adjust is good but I prefer to keep it on the manual control setting.

Product works well on arrival. DOESN'T fit out of the box with Glock Gen5 MOS cuts.
The adapter plate that comes with the red dot does NOT work with Glock Gen5 MOS cuts, even with Glock's included RMR plate. The screws are too long and they don't fit the Holosun adapter plate to the Glock adapter plate correctly. I feel like if I'm paying almost $400, they should include an adapter plate that fits one of the most popular handguns out of the box, but what do I know. The functions of the HE509T work out of the box great, though. No errors that I can see, I haven't take it to shoot yet so idk how much it can take.

Holosun KE509T
Titanium build is very nice and easy to change the battery. Glass could be clearer. On mine, glue present around the periphery of the lenses. Shake awake is a great feature. Like broad 32 moa for fast acquisition with my "short" barrel shotgun. Would recommend in the future.

“Take More Than You Give,” Game Changer
After I mounted a Holosun 507C on my G45 and a HE512C-GD on my Galil Ace Pistol, I can’t go back to irons. If I could I would put a red dot on my 357 Windicator. The HE509T is the quintessential step up from an open reflex, I got my BBR 3.10 back from C&H with it mounted. Yes, this is a heavy EDC but works well with my Fat Boy. The fit and finish is to Holosun’s uncompromising standard. It has the same footprint but a larger profile you will appreciate when you draw and sight with clarity. The solar panels combined with “Shake/Wake” technology is still industry leading. I have to schedule my battery changes years out! I get those cross eyed looks at the range, until they get the balls to ask about it. One look down range and they change their minds. There are trade-offs with every rig, but with HE509T you take much more than you give. You should see the grin on my face.
Pros:
- Batter life and image quality
Cons:
- None

Holosun 509t - great backup optic for lvpo
Optic does have edge distortion but otherwise everything else is as advertised. Shake awake worked at the slightest touch. Reticle looks great even for astigmatism. I appreciate the multiple reticle choices.

Good so far
Out of the box it works great and mounted up great to my gen 5 MOS g19 with a separate mount I bought from c&h precision. It zeroed fine and with only a 100 rounds through it I like it so far. It does have a slight blue tint to it but it doesn’t bother me at all especially when focusing on targets. It had slight edge distortion and a slight zoom effect but again when focusing on targets with both eyes open I don’t notice it. As long as it holds up I think it will be a great option for the money. Hopefully I can give it another good review after a few thousand rounds
