Gosh I love holosun products this is my 6 holosun this is unique cause you can screw the caps on and off which is sweet they also fit on all my other which is pretty neat I love the switching of the reticles you just simply can’t beat it

This is my 2nd purchase of a Holosun red dot. Actually, the 1st was the elite 510 model with green dot. I've had the 510 for at least a year now & have been so pleased that I decided to go with Holosun and Optics Planet again when I needed another sight for Blackout. That's what I've mounted this 515 on. Co-witness is great and I love the ease and stability of the QD, the clarity, the shake awake and great battery life (I've yet to replace battery in my 510)on both models. Quality Optics at a fair price. As always, Optics Planet has been great to deal with. I've ordered numerous items thru the last couple of years and have always received item as described, in great condition and in a timely manner. I seldom bother with writing reviews, in fact I believe this is my 1st with OP in which I apologize because I often depend on other folks reviews when considering a purchase. Therefore I've decided to add my two cents on this great product.

Let me start off by saying I am a Holosun fan and have been for several years. The 515BU was my 3rd Holosun purchase and my favorite out of them all. It's feature packed and comes with many nice extras like the flip up lens covers and the QD mount which is solid. It also stopped working 8 months later with less then 15 rounds put though the particular rife it's on with it mounted. It is on my HD rifle and sits in my bedroom closet with the shake awake feature turned on. I decided to pick the rifle up today and take a peak through it and noticed that the circle for the circle dot reticle is turning itself on and off. It completely disappears below setting 7 and is so bright from 8-12 that the entire outer perimeter of the sight glass is glowing red like a neon sign. This was not an issue the last time I looked through the lens which was about a month ago or when I sighted it in last spring. I have contacted Holosun repair and am awaiting a return rma and conformation. I would still use their products however I am unsure if I will mount them on any serious use weapons which is a shame. If I had thousands of rounds through this rifle with this rds mounted I might feel differently but at a whopping 10 rounds and it sitting in a closet for the 8 months I have owned it I am less then thrilled with it's quality and reliability. I will update this review once I get a response from Holosun and a resolution.

This an excellent option for home/property defense, very reliable and excellent for fast target acquisition. It is also easy get in target at 100 yards with the red dot only, however, if you add a magnifier you can reach out further distances with good accuracy. I highly recommend the Holosun HS515BU and I will buy it again.

This is a really great red dot, and Optics Planet had it at a great price. The features this red dot comes with are extremely hard to beat for the price. I haven't had this red dot for that long, so I can't speak to the durability, but as far as the dot goes, the brightness is great in all lighting conditions from pitch black in the middle of the night to high noon.

I would definitely buy again.

The US Army is now testing holosun optics for down range use.I have several and would trust them with my life in war. Holosun makes a very good Lazer/light similar to the peq. Holosun has been around a very long time and has been providing led diodes for other high end manufacturers for ever now they provide to the civilian and military. There glass is top tier like Aimpoint and Trijicon.There warranty is a no questions asked warranty. You won't be disappointed.

Red dot looks good and strong for the money. Seems to hold zero pretty well after 500 round or so. Caps are very tight and well made as well providing a good seal for the lenses, they are a little tough to flip down at first. Glass clarity is pretty good. The biggest con I have for this sight and all Holosun tube style sights is the front glass. When the set the glass in the front at a cant they do not have timed edges on the glass nor do they fill the gaps left in any way. This makes it look unfinished and you can even see the glue on the exposed edges. Im not sure how the glass stays put so well sitting like this. Its not a huge issue with this style because the flash kill hides it fairly well. I have check multiple other brands around the same price point and this doesn't seem to be an issue with them. They shape the edges better or hide it with a retaining ring. The dot is also slightly distorted as well. I do not have a stigmatism.

This has to be the smallest and lightest red dot sigh ton the market. I was pleasantly surprised how small this unit was upon unpackaging. I have several other Holosun red dots and wanted to add this one to my 7.5" AR pistol. My pistol had the Vortex Sparc which had the single red dot and the annoying rubber covering with lens covers. This Holosun has the red dot and circle reticle which I think is far superior than a single dot. This unit is also smaller and lighter than the Sparc. Another great option on this Holosun is the QD lever to attach to the rail. The Sparc only has a screw that needs to be adjusted everytime it's removed which was very annoying. The flip up lens caps on this 515 is a great addition and very easy to manipulate. The battery tray and dials are easy to use and unit is simple to sight in. It's well made and great quality and an incredible value at just around $200 (cheaper with discounts.)

Great product, easy to mount, easy setup, battery tray screws tiny but thats okay, bought it put it on over a year ago 1000+ rounds numerous range trips with zero issues. Clear glass, mirrors the circle dot on the Sig Romeo 4. These have been replace by newer models and are even a better value now with the lowered prices on them!

Perfect for my wifes needs! I was ordering the same version w/solar power for my rifle, but decided to just stick with this version. Clean, crisp,dependable and bomb proof! The shake awake feature is exactly what my wife needs; If she needs to ever pick up her rifle a reticle is there!
