Awesome and Stronger!
Better 7075 aluminum rather than the 6061 aluminum on the older models. Comes with screw on clear flip up caps with a kill flash vs the older dumb bikini protector. You dont actually need to flip up the caps to use the RS if you choose to do so
Comes with a QD mount that is 1/3 cowitness however yo...

Most Helpful Negative Review
My first negative experience with Holosun
I have owned several Holosuns and have enjoyed them. They have performed well and have been a great value. So, when shopping for a new red dot I went back to a brand I was familiar with and comfortable with. Given its price and previous performance I figured it was an easy choice. The quality had al...

Good optic for the money!
This red dot dialed in quickly. Had it hitting steel at 300yds off hand. Good optic. Was worried about the field of view compared to my Eotech but it’s GTG! I removed the kill flash that it ships with…
Pros:
- Small footprint. Solid mount

Cons:
- Kill flash. Not necessary.

- Hitting what your aiming at

CHECK MODEL YEAR - Child-Safe Battery Cap
Recent change to the Holosun lineup of optics features the use of Child-Safety features for the battery cap.
i.e. the can has a plastic ring on the outer edge of the cap that spins freely, meaning you cannot replace the battery without use of a tool.
The concept of a child-safe battery cap on the optic of a FIREARM is absurd. If you are concerned about an unsupervised child getting into the battery of your red dot, then many other failures led to that point and the battery should probably be the least concern.
This may have been a quick-fix to appeal to legal pressure, but it removed one of the key features I was looking for in this optic.
Namely being able to swap the battery tooless. Thus, I returned the one I ordered.
The rest of the red dot is the same, and thus quite good.
But the cap thing is very upsetting.
Search out an older model year if you are interested in this. Or maybe see if you can source an old cap first.

perfect mix
Features are good.
It’s a nice mix between aimpoint (form factor) and eotech (reticle).
It’s a solid price point too.
Shake to wake also helps.

Perfect for under 100 yards
Easy to install. Great variations in intensity. Use hex head to adjust to rail if sloppy. Over 100 yards the red dot covers the target significantly.

Ergonomic, lightweight, inexpensive
I purchased this Holosun a few weeks ago and just sighted it in today. I was shocked by how light it was compared to my previous optic, and am very glad I made this purchase.

Excellent Optic, It's a Cheaper T2 with Extra Steps
I got this a while back and have been very pleased with it. I have astigmatism that isn't corrected, so I'm pretty leery of red dots. My Aimpoint CompM4 looks okay in highly lit environments but my friend's Sig Romeo5 completely blooms out unless on very low settings. The HS515 I was sent has a very clean reticle with no smearing/smudging (that can be a factor on many Holosuns, like the HS510 and HS512). For whatever reason, the circle dot reticle does not bloom out on me until you get it to it's near-maximum brightness. I read somewhere that the circle dot helps trick your eyes, but your mileage may vary.
I was initially going to replace the mount, but then found that it was so sturdy and well-made that there wasn't a need to do so. Thus far, I've been downright savage with the thing on a few competitions and countless drills and it's not lost zero, nor have I had any malfunctions. The brightness settings are a little finicky at times, and if you're in just the right amount of light at dawn or dusk, you run the risk of it being either too dim or too bright. Another thing that was more annoying than anything was the rear lens cap would not come off for the life of me. Tried just about everything with it, but I didn't want to end up damaging the dot. So there it stays. It doesn't impact anything particularly badly, it's just irritating.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this optic. I've heard that this is about as close to an Aimpoint T2 as possible at a fraction of the ...

Holosun Re Dot HS515GM
Really pleased with this site. Love the quick mount/detachment design and the sensitivity of the shake awake feature. The glass and dot are clear and crisp, respectively. The protective flip lenses on either end are pretty tight and don't release easily, but they too are very clear and I haven't found a need to flip them up.
