+2 9mm rounds for your S&W Shield

Easy to install! (8 rounds in the original mag + 2 rounds with this extension still equals the CA-legal 10 rounds.) Looks a bit crooked when the mag is alone, but everything still fits perfectly when the mag is inside the pistol.

Nice two round extension

After installing it, it doesn't fit flush up to the factory mag there is a small gap there, that wasn't very appealing to me.

This is my 3rd baseplate from Hyve and all have functioned flawlessly. If you’re tossing up we’re or not these are going to be reliable…they are. When I run them side by side with factory mag plates they perform identically. 10/10

Love the extra capacity!

Easy to install. Well worth the price to get the extra capacity. Only complaint is that there is a slight gap between the back of the extension and the magwell. Would prefer it to be a little tighter. But other than that, it looks amazing and I plan on getting more for my other mags.

This is an easy way to add plus two to your mag. It’s well made and it doesn’t look goofy. It’s a good addition. I would suggest this to someone if your looking to add two more rounds to your mag.

Hyve +2 mag extension for M&P Shield 9mm

I tried one of these out at a gun range before buying. I like the feel and function. When you load you 8 round mag to 10 with this extension, it’s a little more difficult to seat the mag unless you really slam it home. I Googled this problem and others have reported the same issue. I’ll keep it and maybe carry it backed off one round. I’ll still get the larger grip that comes with the extended mag.

Poor Design/Quality

Bought this for my Gen 1 M&P Shield. Does not provide the +2 rounds with one in the chamber. The magazine won’t seat correctly if there’s the extra 2 rounds in the mag and one in the chamber. If you were using the 8 round mag with +1 you’d essentially only gain 1 more round instead of 2. Also the coating scratches easily. Go with the tyrant +2 mag extension. It gives you the +2 with 1 in the chamber and is a solid build with a cheaper price tag.

California Compliant

Installation was easy, it was just a matter of swapping the base plate and slightly stretching the factory spring. I dry-fired a full clip with snap caps without any issues and it worked flawlessly at the range. Also, the additional length of the magazine allowed a full grip which improved my accuracy.

Scratches easily

A little hard to install. Must be installed correctly otherwise the rounds will jam. Finish scratched while putting extender onto the magazine. Prevents conceability since makes grip stick out. Not sure on feed reliability. I’m using it for qualifications and backup magazine.

M&P shield 9mm mag extension.

I really like these, added em to my 8round S&W clips in 2-3 minutes! The paint job leaves a lot to be desired. They look great, till you touch it to anything and it scratches on the first bump... No worries for me though, I know a powder coater and will be having these custom powder coated with a nice fine texture added. (which HYVE should seriously consider doing in the future) one day at the range with these and they are both scratched all over. other than that, they are great and very useful.
