Most Helpful Positive Review A much needed tool for any AR build
At first I was apprehensive about spending so little on these tools. Still, they are necessary if you're ever going to get serious about building your AR platform rifle or pistol. That said, I was surprised at how snug the fit was for both the upper and lower receiver blocks on my Aero Precision upp...

Most Helpful Negative Review Upper vise
Upper Vise block did not fit at all. It kept coming out out the vise. Does not fit AR 15 pistols at all. Lower vise is ok for fine, good enough to change buffer tube. Shipping was fast. Didn’t take long at all.

AR-15 Vise Block

by Chris, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on October 27, 2024
Before receiving the AR 15 Vice" block upper and lower combo, I wrapped a towel around the vice clamp to protect the rifle. This Vice" block upper and lower combo has made life so much easier.

Works if you know its limitations

by Michael Lima, Verified Owner from RI, United States Written on July 31, 2024
What are its limitations you ask. Well, it is made of plastic or some polymer material. The upper blocks are a bit flexible when torquing a barrel nut. It does work at reasonable torque specification. You may want to add a C style clamp at the top of the two sections so that it does not spread apart. It does not fit an A1 or A2 style upper with the carry handle. I was not paying attention to this when I purchased it. I used it on an A4 style upper first. So, I used the lower mag block for the carry handle uppers, and it worked without breaking off in the vise. It did flex a bit, but it got the job done. No complaints for the price paid.
Pros:
  • Low cost
Cons:
  • kind of flexible
Best Used for:
  • a3/a4 uppers

Worked for me.

Lower receiver block works well as any other brands. However, the upper blocks only works with typical standard style upper receivers.

not the best but it works

by Tie R, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on July 24, 2022
For minor repairs, this will do. If you are assembling a stripped upper, you need an aluminum vice block. You also need a full size bench vise for this too work. I would not recommend for any barrel mounting activities as this block is not meant for heavy duty wear.

not perfect but works

by Kevin Townsend, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on June 12, 2022
All these people complaining about a cheao tool not being perfect. Funny. I was able to put my upper receiver in and torque a barrel nut to 50 ft/lbs with no issue. As of this writing its been jn the vise for 3 days waiting for gas block to come in. The block for the lower slides in and fits the se asy magpul and troy magazines. Slighr wiggle but nothing to scoff at. It does what it needs to. Id say its the equivalent of Craftsman in the auto.otive tool world. Its not gucci stuff like snap-on/matco, but itll definately work for what you need.

vice block

by ml, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 13, 2022
This is the best price available on a good quality heavy duty block that will last for years. It’s as good as the rest of them.I would buy it again or refer my friends. Made out of plastic, not sure where it was manufactured.

Poor Quality

by Fej99, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on April 27, 2021
Snapped fairly easy trying to remove a a difficult barrel nut. Difficult to line up the upper so it can close tight. I suppose the lower block could be fairly useful doing light work, but I do not recommend for any work on an upper. Definitely a waster of money for me, lasted about 5 minutes.
