Most Helpful Positive Review JE Machine Gen3 Buttstock
Great construction, confortable shoulder/cheek positioning and nonreflective flat coloring. The resonable price tag could not be beat. Non of the bells and whistles, all function, and durable enough for competition/combative shooting. I throw my rifles around and run them hard, so far so good. Yet, ...

Most Helpful Negative Review doesnt work
Looks good, feels good, but doesnt stay in place. Says that its milspec, used it on a military m4 and kept coming out of channel. Each shot i had to reset it, then tried to hold it in placd while shooting, it made me fail my qual. So i had to replace it with my friends stock to qualify.

very tight

by Randy, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 19, 2025
Did not come with the sliding mechanism for the buffer tube but I’ve never been a fan of it… comes with a huge durable screw that makes it a fixed buttstock. Maybe I missed this in the description but either way I’m happy. Does not wiggle or jiggle and is very tight.

Similar to B5

by Russell Williams, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on December 19, 2024
It’s very similar to the B5 bravo stock. It’s well built and works like a stock lol. No issues running drills for me.

J&E Sopmod Buttstock

by Justin Jackson, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on May 20, 2024
Good quality for the money, adjustments seem to lock and hold, very minor amount of play after locking, time will tell how well it holds up. Storage tubes are just big enough for cylinder batteries (not button cell), earplugs or an oil pen.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
Cons:
  • Very small amount of play
Best Used for:
  • Budget

Great stock for the money, beats standard hands down

by mh, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on September 12, 2023
Have used this stock for a couple years now. Haven't been at war, digging holes, or breaking down doors with this stock, but I believe it to be an excellent value for the price. Unfortunate to see they only have the 2 most standard colors available right now. The price and the unique mixed match color options(FDE/BLACK) were originally what appealed to me and made me decide to try this particular brand. Also have a slim B5 sopmod bravo on a different rifle, but prefer this style with the storage and extended cheek weld. The J&E stock finish is a little "rougher around the edges" than B5, and other more expensive options, but is half the price. It is still made of the same exact rugged materials. Fit is fine, I don't believe it to be anywhere near too loose. Pretty much every adjustable stock I have ever used has some degree of wobble in it's function, especially as they get older and more used. I painted the rifle the stock is on, so that helps eliminate any play, but regardless, the stock works great and locks up tight on the shortest setting. The storage tubes WILL fit cr-123 batteries, but quite tightly. Sanding down the inside of the tubes would help, or can just take the labels off of the batteries for a much better fit. I do not have an issue getting the batteries out, just tap the tube upside down on a hard surface several times. Better a tight fit than rattling batteries. I recommend giving this stock a try.

almost as good as the BCM

by Jason Edwards, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on November 21, 2022
Feels and looks great. Just a little tight on the buffer tube. But that’s fine with me. I don’t like any wobble. I also have a BCM B5. But because I have a budget. I’d buy this one again for the price. Would recommend.
Pros:
  • Fits and finish
Cons:
  • None

not a b5 sopmod / loose fit

by Brightt One, from CA, United States Written on December 8, 2021
got it for sale with decent hopes it would be a deal on a sopmod clone, looks the part 90%

fitment on the buffer tube is loose and rattles, go b5 sopmod or magpul. It is just not worth the cost savings.

buy once cry once

wont stay in place

by Mike, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on May 15, 2021
When i first got it, it felt great in the shoulder pocket and comfortable on the cheek positioning. Then weeks later i had to shoot a qualification labe with my M4. The buttstock says Milspec and fit the the military M4 buffer tube well. Then it came doen to shooting the qual and the stock kept coming out of position and slamming into the reciever. I had to take my support hand off and try my best to hold it inplace! After failing two quals, i gave up and borrowed my friends buttstock to qualify and finish up the day. It was very frustrating and shooting was too laborous than it needed to be. Definitely not fit for combat nor competition. Looks good, so if you have a wall piece type of carbine, then buy it. Thats all its good for at this point.

Good alternative to B5

by Chuck, from WA, United States Written on March 21, 2021
Great product. It's comfortable to shoulder and has plenty of space for a good cheek weld. The only complaint is that the battery compartments only works with AA batteries. The QD along swivel is also in a great location.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
Cons:
  • Battery storage only take AA
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Target shooting

Nice stock, almost great, but not quite. Get something else.

by NDMichael, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on March 9, 2021
Seems well made, and not much rattle when installed. Seems like a good, less expensive alternative to the LMT or B5 SOPMOD stock. The downside, the storage tubes are useless. CR123 batteries get stuck about half way down the tube, and you have to hammer the tubes to get them out. If you're buying this to utilize the storage tubes, spend a little more and get the B5 Advanced SOPMOD stock, which is a great stock with storage tubes that fit CR123 batteries.

Also, when I sent messages to J&E Machine about this, I got no response. This matches what I've heard from others, that J&E's warranty is useless, since they don't respond to messages sent using their own message system.
Pros:
  • Good cheekweld
  • Not much rattle when installed
Cons:
  • Storage tubes are too narrow
Best Used for:
  • Airsoft

Very good quality product

by Easy does it, from AR, United States Written on January 15, 2021
The product is good quality and has not given any issues. It went on an ar for a friends son. He shoots the gun constantly so it should speak for itself that if it works for him it will work for you. I’ve purchased quite a few items from this site and I haven’t been let down yet.
