BCG looked nice from a distance
Has machining marks and a funny finish. Big problem is the staking and the bolts. Bolt heads rounded and poor staking/ cracked out. Very poor quality control- disappointed. Can i please post pictures....whats going on JG??? Not usable as shipped.
multiple failures
I had this in one of my rifles and it wouldn't make it thru a mag without jamming. I tried different ammo and mags and same thing would happen 2 rounds would get stuck. So i swapped a standard psa bcg and now i have no issue. I definitely regret this purchase especially after seeing its discontinued by the manufacturer.
Also the forward assist is pointless with the way they designed this.

Designed well but QC is an issue
Purchased two of these BCGs. As someone stated in prior reviews the gas key bolts are not properly staked. Used on one of my .300 blackout Aero builds and the gas key blew up and pieces of if got jammed in upper receiver. Noticed that 2nd BCG I have is poorly staked as well. Made contact about a week ago to JG and Optics Planet to resolve but no one is getting back. I also bought JG upper. No issues with it yet. But I think quality control is an issue at JG. I would stay away for now until these issues get resolved. Cant believe this company positions themselves as aero precision level of arms manufacturing. This is clearly not evident because of my experience.
Pros:
- DLC coating makes the bolt slide super smooth
Cons:
- Not properly staked so gas key will eventually get loose and cause damage inside the receiver
Best Used for:
- Best to be used for paperweight

My favorite BCG right now
I have ordered a few of these in black.
The coating is comparable to Cryptic -- very slick, super easy to clean.
Price cannot be beat for a low-mass, PVD coated, HP tested, lifetime warranty bcg.
I did get one bad one -- horribly staked, some tool marks. Both OpticsPlanet and Jacob Grey were willing to resolve the issue. Jacob Grey clearly had some QC issues. But the other two were flawless; very well made.
So why 5 stars? Because at this price point, this BCG is an incredible price/quality/features combination. Just incredible.
