Ignore the 1 Star Review
The guy leaving the 1 star review either has no arms or fingers with the strength of a wet noodle. This folding mechanism works perfect on my AP5. A simple lift near the folding mechanism releases it and allows me to fold my stock. There is zero slop when folding or in the straight locked position. ...

absolute trash
I had to use a rubber mallet and screwdriver to get it to articulate. I'm not sure why they put a 90lb spring in the action. It actually broke my custom made, high then wooden stock trying to move it. If you want a fixed stock that doesn't actually fold, this is for you. worthless junk imho.
avoid this product
Does not function as intended. I own several folding stocks/braces from other brands, like A3, Sig, Strike Industries and Midwest Industries that all work fine. This one does not, now my Jmac folding stock is a fixed stock. Don't waste your time or money on Jmac

Quality Control Varies Wildly
Mine was way too stiff. Like another reviewer, I had to use a table and my body weight to open it back up.
JMac is fully aware of the issue. But instead of correcting it, they uploaded a Rob Solomon video on their YouTube channel entitled "How to Fold your Folding Mech!" In it, they insinuate it's a lack of strength and/or technique on your part. But the comments are clear:
"...mine felt almost stuck and definitely had a frustrating break in period."
"Im a built guy and this on a vector is impossible..."
"Seriously why is mine so ridiculously tough?"
"Still doesn’t work. Two of us trying..."
"Sad, Great product but terrible customer service."
And even though this folding mechanism has been out for years, it has no reviews on their site. Whereas other products on their site only have perfect five-star reviews. Because, as I know from personal experience, they moderate and remove anything negative. It's why they enforce a 20% restocking fee for sales from their main site. People return a lot of their stuff.

hard to unlock
Based on mixed good and bad reviews, I believe there is some tolerence/ machining issue goig on here.
I unfortunately received a folding mech that just would not move, same experience as one of the reviewer has mentioned.
Only way for me to open the lock is to place it on a table corner and use my body weight to make the spring move up and fold.
Unless this is an isolated machining issue, I cannot recommennd this.

Awesome 1913 adapter
This is my favorite 1913 adapter, the lockup is very solid.

Very nice.
I agree with the other guy. Ignore the one star. This thing fits perfectly and works as described. It is a little tight at first, but it will work itself out. It needs to lock when folded. It takes a bit of “man”strength to get it, but in time it will all be as smooth as butter. Get it.
