Most Helpful Positive Review JPoint 8 MOA Dot Sight on Glock 26
Mounted the sight using the JP Glock rear sight dovetail mount. Installation was not difficult for a DIY with average skills. Sighting in was quick. After 200 rounds through gun, no detectable sight drift. 8 MOA dot much easier to acquire than 2 or 1 MOA dots. The lack of an on-off switch will deplete the battery with the gun in storage, but this is my wife's bedside weapon, so always-on is a feature rather than a fault. The low profile does not detract from concealability and does not deter drawing at all. The only improvement I would recommend is a circle around the dot to assist in sight ...

Great "little" red dot

by Lew, from IL, United States Written on May 26, 2020
Bought this for a Springfield hellcat. Mounted in 5 minutes and was basically zeroed out of the box. Like the 8 MOA, don't send time trying to find the dot "its there". Constant ON is a plus for a carry weapon. If you should ever need to use it in a life or death situation, trying to find a OFF/ON button could spell disaster. Have put 500 + rounds through the weapon and no zero or dot brightness issues. Changed the battery, just because I wanted a new one, unmounted, changed battery, and remounted the sight and it maintained zero. Overall, satisfied with this optic. In use for 6 + months with no issues.
Pros:
  • Size & Weight
  • size & weight & the 8 MOA
Cons:
  • None

A basic but reliable red dot sight

by Surfdog101, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 15, 2017
During my search for a red dot for my M&P Core, I purchased this Jpoint reflex sight on recommendation from my gunsmith. The unit was easy to mount and I was pleasantly surprised with the sharpness of the red dot which is a big plus. The Jpoints main features is that they are auto brightness, which seems uncannily accurate. The Jpoint is supposed to have a battery life that last for years and years, making this ideal for my carry optic gun. I like the concept of having a sight that i don't have to fiddle with or worry if I remembered to turn it off.

Theater big pluses about this sight is that the frame surrounding the window is really thin, making it easy to see through, especially when compared to my previous sight, the Trijicon RMR which has a much smaller window and a really thick frame. This big sight picture really helps to acquire the target quickly and easily and helps a great deal with indexing the gun on the target.

Now for the minuses to this sight. There really isn't many for me, with the major one being that the set screws to adjust the windage and elevation of the red dot is really really small, plus there is no arrows marked on the Jpoint as to which way the red dot moves in relation to the turns of the set screws. So essentially what all this means in practical terms is that if your zero is off, you're not likely to be able to adjust the zero unless you remembered to bring the tiny little hex wrench JP supplies with the unit. Overall, unit feels a little frag...

JP Enterprises JPoint 8 MOA

by Mike P, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on November 27, 2016
This product was everything I expected. It's compact and the fit to my S&W revolver was perfect. The 8 M
OA reticle is a bit large for my 10 yard target practice, but the dot is easy to find, especially with the knotch in the sight.
Pros:
  • Compact Size
  • bright sight in daylight
Cons:
  • None

Surprised by this Red Dot.

by David Tuell, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on October 14, 2016
I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting much for the price point on this JPoint. I really wanted one of the higher priced brands but didn't have the money to buy one. So I decided to give this a try because of positive reviews I was reading and Optic Planets unbelievable low price. (Beat anything on Amazon).

Surprise #1: This red dot is virtually weightless and still a decent optic width and highth.
Surprise #2: It fit perfectly into my Smith and Wesson Core and was mounted in less than 5 minutes.
Surprise #3: It co-witness perfectly with my iron sights which was my greatest desire.
Surprise #4: Dot is sharp and zeroed in at top of my front sight as I wanted.

This JPoint 8 MOA dot is perfect and easy to find with aging eyes and developing cataracts which was beginning to really affect my shooting ability. After shooting 300 rounds the JPoint is still zeroed and I am now very comfortable with it. My wife shot five rounds with it and put two in center target touching with other three in inner circle at 7 1/2 yards.
...I just ordered a second one for her.

Gave four stars instead of five because you must take off to replace battery.

I bought this sight to mount on an M&P 9mm Pro-CORE pistol. Works very well. Very compact and mounts neatly. Sighted in easily. Dot could stand to be sharper and battery replacement is a pain in that you have to remove the sight to accomplish. Overall, I am very happy with this sight and would purchase it again.
Pros:
  • reasonable price
  • Compact, light weight
  • Easy to zero and use
Cons:
  • have to remove part to replace bat.
Best Used for:
  • semi-auto pistol

JPoint Optical Site

by Roger, from NC, United States Written on September 15, 2015
Easy to install. Little adjustment required and it sounds like the battery will last a long time. The site is nearly weightless. The dot is very easy to see and pick up. Good product.

The cost was the least I found for this product.

Delivery time was only a couple of days.

J point red dot sight

by SWORDFISHHUNTER, from AZ, United States Written on March 18, 2015
Have purchased 2 of these sights in the past, they are a direct replacement for the old Tasco 2000, the 8moa dot is brighter than the old Tasco and the unit is built tougher, use them both on pistols, one open gun and one on a steel gun, both work fine, saves having to redue your mount if you have an old Tasco.
