The JP Enterprises JPoint 8 MOA Reflex/Red Dot Sight could be used on a 38 Special as long as it can be mounted properly. Whether or not there is a compatible mount will depend on the specific gun.

This product was everything I expected. It's compact and the fit to my S&W revolver was perfect. The 8 M OA reticle is a bit large for my 10 yard target practice, but the dot is easy to find, especially with the knotch in the sight.
