This is a nice, inexpensive tripod for camers & possibly light duty spotting scopes. It has plastic knobs & comes with zero directions. I had to figure out how the mounting plate detaches in order to mount my new Konus spotting scope on it. One of the knobs tightens two different tilt angles. I've never received something like this that doesn't have any directions. The search feature at Optics Planet wouldn't pull up anything meaningful, only spotting scope that come with tripods... but the live chat guy sent me links to a few different tripods offered by Optics Planet so I figured I was off to the races. He said I should know better than to buy a cheap tripod for such a big spotting scope to which I replied I had no idea the scope would be too heavy for the tripods the chat guy referred me to & this being my first spotting scope & first tripod, how was I supposed to know? Maybe he talks to ...
