Most Helpful Positive Review LaserMax is an Excellent Product
My wife and I are retired, 65+ and have bifocals. It is impossible for us to see the target and then focus on the front sight without moving our heads. The LaserMax eliminates the need to shift focus. I installed two of them in two pistols. The first took the advertised 10 minutes or so as I went ba...

Most Helpful Negative Review Needs improvement
At $399 this laser sight is unobtrusive, easy to set up but needs some improvements. It is not seen well in sunlight (a green laser might be better) and it is not adjustable. It gives you a quick, very crude way of sighting in a target but, where lives are concerned, accuracy, as well as speed is pa...

Cheap garbage

by coker, from TX, United States Written on August 20, 2024
There is a reason you don't see these on LE firearms: They are basically cheap laser pen innards stuffed into a guide rod with a spring. Zero customer support from Lasermax/Crosman, emails get no response, and the ($400+) item simply does not work. Never even got to fire a round; this PoS just stopped working after 1 month. Bought some overpriced "lasermax batteries", and that didn't solve the issue. After no response from lasermax/crosman support, I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Lasermax appears to now be owned/controlled by Crosman; Crosman makes air rifles, which makes sense, since this appears to basically be a toy laser one can find at your local swap meet or discount store.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Its a clever, non-functioning doo-dad.
Best Used for:
  • disassembly/reassembly practice.

Worst Garbage and Even Worse Service

by Yoda, from NY, United States Written on May 15, 2023
After putting around 600 rounds through my Sig P226 Legion with the Lasermax LS-226G, the take down lever switch failed.
A small piece of epoxy which forms the switch fell out.
I called Lasermax, informed them of the problem and received an RMA.
About 4 weeks later I got back the unit but from the check out sheet completed by their technician, he NEVER tested it.
Today, one week after getting it back, I went to the range.
I put an additional 150 rounds through the gun.
Dare I tell you, the epoxy has fallen out for a second time.
This is not a device anyone in their right mind would depend on.
SHAME ON LASERMAX AND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT

LOOKING FOR A GIFT? READ THIS REVIEW FROM A GIFT RECIPIENT...

by Mike, from CA, United States Written on October 11, 2019
Congratulations, If you're looking for a really unique and awesome gift you found it.

I've never been a fan of lasers, or scopes but this laser that i received as a gift is freekin awesome. It took about a minute or less to install this model laser without any experience or tools... worked right out of the box and has kind of changed my perception about this type of product.

Presentation... The laser comes in a nice little metal box that can be gift wrapped... There is no way to tell what it is by shaking the box and they'll never guess what's in the box... if they guessed right, you or someone said something about it, they asked for it or someone spilled the beans...

This laser comes in 3 parts, the laser guide pin itself, a new spring and the takedown lever. To install, i didn't have to read the instructions... i dropped the mag and cleared the chamber making sure that there are no bullets in it first. with the upper receiver locked in the rear position, you turn the takedown lever vertical and remove the upper receiver that holds the guide pin/spring and barrel. i took my thumb and applied pressure to the right side of the P220 wiggling the lever back and forth until it came all the way out... there aren't any retainer springs or anything like that, it's just a real close tolerance. pulled the laser takedown lever out and slid it back in the same way just rotating/wiggling it a bit back and forth until it was all the way in and vertical... pulled the pin and spring ...

Great price couldn't pass it up

by Michael, from AZ, United States Written on January 16, 2019
Bought one 3yrs ago for a Glock 21 45acp worked great, laser was dead on. I don't know if the demand of these lasers made the quality suffer. Laser was more to left pushing my shots right. Good at distances up to 30ft. Bright red laser visible during the day . Great battery life

Pleased is an understatement.

by John Giannini, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 1, 2018
I am a retired peace officer and I am currently working as a Security Officer and I do a lot of mid-night shifts in a very large hotel and resort compound. When your in a dark building or outside the use of the iron sight are out of the question and the Laser-Max works like it was designed to. I have had good groups with it and I personally believe that the Laser-Max was and is worth every penny. The holster I have which is a level 2 holster did not need to be changed, saving me money. This laser also allows the Sig p220 to keep its design and the laser did not change the balance of the pistole.
Pros:
  • Saves on the need for replacement holster.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Night work.

The Lasermax Guide Rod Laser Sight for My Sig M11-A1

by Robert Plested, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on August 15, 2017
I bought my Lasermax guide rod sight on sale, but it works as though I had paid the full price, plus. Really Great! Easy installation, also. This is my first purchase of a SIGARMS Lasermax laser guide rod sight from Optics Planet, but my THIRD Lasermax guide rod purchase from them. I'm pleased with them all. The personal contact with the folks from sales helped a lot. Thanks, O.P.

LaserMax re laser for Sigarms

by Robert Perreten, from UT, United States Written on July 25, 2017
The guided laser works very well fr those like myself who don;t want the extra bulk and wight of an attached laser unit that also requires a special holster to accommodate a rail locked laser on the frame. I would really prefer that Laser Max come out with a green guide rod laser for the Sig P220, like they have for the Glocks, but haven't seen one advertised, yet?
Pros:
  • can utilize normal holsters
Cons:
  • green laser would work better
Best Used for:
  • low light conditions

LaserMax Guide Rod Laser - Sig 229

by Elkhunter, from CO, United States Written on March 22, 2016
Very easy to install and easy to use, the directions are easy to follow, but read them completely thru a couple of times first. Does not impact which holster you have. If the laser guide for is installed properly it should be very accurate to shoot with. The batteries are preinstalled when you receive the unit so you do not have to open it up and look to see if they are there.
