Most Helpful Positive Review Impressed by quality
General comments: This is a very nice scope that satisfies close to medium range needs. For its price range the scope delivers great value. Specific elements: 1. Reticle: mil dot calibrated at 10x which is standard, even though the scope maximum mag is 8. You can stil make conversions by multiplyi...

Most Helpful Negative Review Decent scope for the money. Included batteries don't work!
I received this scope and immediately inserted the included battery necessary for the reticle to be illuminated. NO reticle illumination with either "no-name" 2032 battery provided with the scope. I bought a 2-pack of Duracell 2032 batteries for $4.00 and tried both new batteries separately in the s...

Amazing Scope!!! Highly Recommend

by Joe Hayek, from NY, United States Written on March 17, 2021
Amazing value for a 1-8x CQB Scope, the reticle is very visible, the illumination is amazing, very clear glass, you get the tiniest bit of that fishbowl effect at 1x but doesn’t effect the usability of this amazing optic. Holds up to hundreds of my 7.62x39 AK47 rounds. Absolutely recommend to anybody that doesn’t want to go spend $300+ on a Vortex optic
Pros:
  • Clear Glass, crisp reticle
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Everything!!! Close up plinking or 500yd long range shots

Solid optic for the money

by Seth, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on December 19, 2020
This scope feels solid and functions well. I like how easy the illumination system is to operate. I did end up rotating the rear flip-up cap to place the hinge at 10 o'clock so I can access the buttons while the cap is open. The glass distorts a little at the edge, but no more than I'd expect any glass in this price range would. The magnification knob turns pretty hard, an extended throw lever would be nice. The 1x magnification setting is more like 0.9x. But overall, a good scope for the money. I would buy this again.
Pros:
  • magnification range
  • Illumination Control
Cons:
  • Magnification ring is a bit difficult to turn
  • Glass around edges could be a little better

Awesome scope

by Azntactical, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on September 2, 2018
I have had the mil dot version for quite a while now on my 5.56 rifle. Works quite well. I am still using the same battery that came with it. I have a few utg scopes with various magnifications on a few heavier hitting rifles. Still hold zero under recoil. Im not a big fan of the 36 different colored reticle, but it is what it is. I think without all that, the scope could be a bit lighter. The 1x isn't really a 1x. Maybe more like a 1.2x. Overall, I am pleased with it.
Pros:
  • heavy
Cons:
  • price
  • Sturdy
  • Clear
  • Holds zero

Don’t waste your money on this product

by johan, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on May 25, 2018
The battery they send you don’t work the first shot I made the scoop turn of they never turn back on, and the rifle is a 556. You can spend a little more and get a better scoop. At least optic planet have a good return policy and they give me a store credit and with the next one they I’m going with primary arms or vortex

This scope is a good value. The shipping from Optics Planet was fast and the product came on time and well packaged. This scope appears well built and in terms of size is a good fit for AR style rifles.
Pros:
  • good price and versatile
Cons:
  • The instructions are not well written and are especially difficult to follow in how the rings are attached to the rail.

Money well spent

by DAVY, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on March 4, 2016
Can't beat the price for this scope. I installed on an AR 223 Wylde rifle using a Burris PEPR mount. Has held zero through 500+ rounds. I don't know if I would trust it on a large cal. setup. Haven't tried or heard anything. It is what it is. Higher quality and performance than I expected. Would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive alternative to a "high end" model. Think I'm going to tryout the 4-16X one on an upcoming build. Hope it performs as well as this one does!

Good mid range scope

by wimmpyiii, from WA, United States Written on February 29, 2016
Works great.
the brightness range is good.
The lens coating was a little blemished has a few small spots that are not smooth but is unnoticed as the blemish is not near center of glass.
I have this mounted on my MIG 22 rifle.

Well worth the $220 price tag

by Talon2pro, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on February 21, 2016
I was looking for an inexpensive 'do all' optic and I am very pleased with this choice. This scope enables me to shoot long or short with predictable results. at 2x I was able to shoot 2" groups at 100 yards afteronly 12 sight in shots, beginning at 25 yes extending to the one hundred yard mark having no boresight to use. The only issue is that I didn't buy a 1” riser to clear my iron front sight on a custom built AR platform. Operator error. I didn't turn the optic to x8 because the front sight obscured the bullseye.
for my target and long-range needs, this optic fits my budget with plenty of clarity even in dim light situations. The adjustable rectle color's aided in precise target acquirement.
Best Used for:
  • Targets, hunting, training

great scopes for the price

by wild bill, from OK, United States Written on April 2, 2015
I own this scope have it on a 308 battle rifle. I also have 2 of the 1-4x28 versions of this scope .and a 4-16x44 . And a 2-7 long eye relief scope. All leapers all work great . I have relatives that use leupold and those are great too but cost a lot of money . Leapers scopes are fantastic my 44 objective scope lights up good at night. I went coyote hunting at night and I could see the blades of grass in detail at around 100 yards . Fantastic scopes can't say enough good things. Also had on of these on an ak and dropped it dinged it around etc and it holds zero great. I recommend any and all leapers products to everyone from scope mounts scopes to gun accessories.
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • None for the money
Best Used for:
  • everything that involves shooting
