Wrong mounting screws

Be aware that this 55761 IS the correct base for the new Weatherby 307 action, and recommended as such by Leupold. However the base(s) is furnished with mounting screws too small to fit the Weatherby pre-drilled/tapped mounting holes.
Pros:
  • The QR bases are terrific, and Im very satisfied with them on other rifles.
Cons:
  • The 55761 is supplied with the wrong screws for Weatherby 307 action . You must be prepared to source those separately in the correct length that will clear the bolt without interference.
Best Used for:
  • Savage 110, for which they are primariky intended, and shich presumably use the mounting screws provided

Leupold QR Mount Weatgerby Mark 5

Worked well after minor roll pin work.
When unboxed, the clamping mechanism retention roll pin was protruding from both sides on the rear mount.
A small pin punch and pliers removed one of the two roll pins. ( only supposed to be one) mounted and performs like Leupold should.

5 minutes of work and now I have a spare roll pin in stock.

bases and rings

I like this set up first time going in this direction with this type of mount.
I will more than likely change all my bases and rings to this set up.I like the fact you can pop your scope off and put it in a carry on when you fly.

Great Bases

I have been using these base for 15 or 20 years or better. I have more than one gun in the same model but different calibers. I have taken the scope off one gun and put on another and was only 3 inches off at a hundred yards. very impressed. And yes I have slipped on rocks, ice in the mud and banged my scope many times. And it was always close to being dead on. They are the first mounts I look for when buying a new gun. AS long as Leupold sells them I will buy them.

Leupold quality

I have used this type of mount on my rifles for over 20 years now. Sight in once and done. Makes cleaning after being in the field super easy and I have never had an issue with it not returning to zero. Optics planet has a great selection and good pricing for them.
Pros:
  • Simplified cleaning and allows optics to be stored off of firearms
Cons:
  • Be careful using the locking levers. Do not force them!
Best Used for:
  • Bang flops

Leupold QR base/rings

Great product. Works exactly as described. Easy switching of scope to barrels on my Thompson Center Encore rifle. I have had the QR base/ring combo for almost 20 years and have never had an issue with proper lockdown of old rings to new bases as I add barrels to my collection.

QR bases by Leupold

I bought these bases for my BLR browning for a trip out west. I like the ability to bring two scopes for one rifle to match hunting conditions or be sure a backup scope is readily available if an accident occurs while on the trip.

Exactly as described

Clear instruction all the parts and tools you need for an easy install. The only thing they could improve on is making a positive stop for both locked position and unlocked position. Color was spot on for what I wanted as a match to my gun and scope. The rings if moou ring a s ole probably need to be at least med height if not high. My 700 bolt handle would not clear scope
