Excellent Optic

There are many 1-6 optics out there on the market. Some more expensive, most less expensive. The cheaper ones work, but no where as well as this does. The eye relief on this scope is so forgiving. The crosshair illumination isn’t gonna knock your socks off by any means, but it’s functional and it has an auto off. If you move the rifle in the auto off setting the illumination turns on. Pretty useful for home defense if paired with a flashlight. Price is high, but keep in mind eotechs are $1200 for a battery powered holographic. Leopold makes very good equipment and there’s a certain level of trust I have in their products that I don’t have with other manufacturers. 5/5, I absolutely recommend. I put this on an AR-15 w/ 16” barrel

Leupold makes great scopes especially the high end stuff.

I have a vx6 3-18×50 about 10 years old and love it. So I bought this 1-6×24 and it's great too. I just wish it had a side focus/parallax on it like the higher magnification models do.

Scope is one of the best

Scope is good and accurate. Very durable and built for the hunters expectation. I highly recommend this scope if you are going to be hunting or practicing your shot.
Scope is ideal for mid-range application anywhere between 150-300 yards.

True 1x power with a generous eye box, crisp 6x at long range, and still only 16oz!

I’ve been running this scope through its paces for 8 months now, and am thrilled with it. Helped me to the podium in a couple of matches including a 5k run and fun. It is capable of going from a CQC-style stage to a 600 yard stage without a problem. Whether you are a hunter or competitor, you’ll love the light weight. The scope has taken a pounding from me, including more than 50 miles of running, rucking, rain, and mud. It’s backed Leupold’s excellent guarantee. They will also send you a customized elevation knob after you get your dope! Super handy.

Great scope but missing parts

A great scope with a beautiful image. I am just very disappointed that it was missing the handle to turn the magnification ring and the battery. The shipping was very fast. Haven't mounted it yet so I can't say how it will hold up to recoil.

Do It All Scope

Perfect scope for for making those longer shots that require small dope adjustments, but still maintains a low profile for CQB type work. Works great on my 16in DDM4 V11. Would definitely recommend this scope for the experienced shooter that wants the reliability and clarity of a high quality scope to go along with their dependable riffle.

I ordered couple of these scopes for me and my friends and all perfect. Not very expensive but quality is very good. Pleased with glass clarity and from all scopes i ever bought for my rifle this one is absolutely the best.

Great quick acquisition scope

Have chosen this VX-6 for a big game rifle and so far have not been disappointed. Clear and quick sighing makes it a perfect safari scope. It was easy to install and get sighted in. Love the fire duplex reticle! Have chosen the same reticle on several other Leupolds. Looking forward to my hunt.

Great optic but needs brighter illumination.

I loved this optic a lot. The reticle is great besides the illumination, which is why I have it 4 stars instead of 5. Another con I had was the on/off button. Didn’t really work as well as I thought. Other than that, this optic is great all around if you don’t mind the illumination and on/off switch.

Pros:

Leupold quality, awesome finish, turrets are well machined, easily manipulated.

Cons:

Illumination is not bright enough, on/off button does not work well.

This review is for Leupold VX-6HD FIREDOT CIRCLE reticle ...NOT FIREDOT DUPLEX as titled

Good glass. Good clarity. Wonderful windage and vertical adjustment controls.
Wish the Firedot circle was a bit larger diameter for quick acquisition. Will aclimate!
Good sight picture, especially at 1x.
Changing the magnification requires some effort. Good if you want to use the scope at a specific power for the task. Not so quick if you want to experiment for first time use.
1x is slightly more than 1x, but works well with both eyes open.
3.5x seems like a prime magnification on the 1-6x.
Used on a Sig Virtus but easily moved to a Tavor with little adjustment, using an American Defense mount.
You would need to spend a grand more for marginally better German low light glass.
Very good price for the quality, but not a low end price for sure.

close to medium range ( 400 yds)
