Most Helpful Positive Review Great Rounds
A bit expensive, although very much worth it.. these rounds are extremely lightweight and accurate, I carry 3 18 round magazines of this ammunition and it is less than half the weight of standard brass rounds. Less recoil improved accuracy tremendously. Will be my main choice in rounds from now on.
Most Helpful Negative Review Casing failed
The shell casing failed in a factory gen 3 glock 27 and blew the extractor out of the gun. Had to replace a few other small parts to get the gun back up and running right. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. I have photos of the round with the whole side of the casing blown out. This happened with my firs...

Low Recoil and High Speed!

by Light Weight Bullets, Verified Owner from VT, United States Written on November 8, 2024
Using this ammo with the lighter weight bullets changes the shooting experience - with less felt recoil out of a pistol. I've been experimenting with using these light bullets in longer barrel rifles chambered for pistol rounds - and with the longer barrel, I now have a combination which can effectively really reach out hundreds of yards. Recoil is much lighter than with centerfire rifle rounds and with a suppressor - quite enjoyable to shoot.
This might become my favorite set up for coyotes this winter!
Pros:
  • Less recoil
  • HIgher Velocities
Cons:
  • Cost per round
Best Used for:
  • plinking
  • Coyote , varmint hunting & now target shooting

Used by LEOs for thier personal defense options is a fine recommendation. The videos of this product in Ballistics Gel are impressive and use against varmints would be devastating.

  • Stopping Power
Cons:
  • cost

WAY over priced!

by Slim Jim, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 21, 2023
First is they are TERRIBLE for penetrating anything except flesh and that I’m only guessing on in regards to how it performs against man. So if the threat is behind a THING AT ALL like a car door, window, drywall, plywood, etcetera count on the ENTIRE front of the hollow point(the hollow part)exploding on contact leaving ONLY the VERY TINY BASE of the projectile MAYBE continuing on to the actual threat! That’s not a good thing since these rounds are already super light weight and to have at LEAST HALF the projectile blown apart passing threw ANYTHING leaving MAX 30 grains of projectile LEFT to stop the threat… not good! Also optics sell these same 40 cal’s for $20.99 a box and NOW raised the price to ridiculous prices so I HIGHLY suggest looking into underwood’s extreme penetrators that go through 6”x6” SOLID wood BEAMS like they weren’t even there and after digging out the projectile from the ballistic gel it was in good enough shape it could of fit sure been reloaded even though I wouldn’t ever recommend that. I asked optic to match their OWN price and ordered ELEVEN boxes of this and said at checkout in comments to MATCG THEIR OWN prices OR SIMPLY CANCEL the ammo off my order and instead they SHIPPED ANYWAYS BUT thing is in the END I’ll WIN HUGE for that COMPLETE LACK OF RESPECT to a customer that’s BEEN BUYING SO MANY HIGH END parts for MAAANY YEARS and if they didn’t want to match THEIR prices then they SHOULD of done me RIGHT like be ALWAYS done them as I’ve sent a TON ...

What I bought

by Shortboy, from FL, United States Written on July 3, 2023
I bought hallow tip bullets for my smith and western 40 Caliber gun for security. I’m very happy with the product I received from optics planet. I wanted something affordable, but when I checked around, everything was very expensive. I finally found these guys and their price was reasonable. I’m super happy I have what I need to work as I need

I really like this ammunition. It’s very light weight and the recoil in my subcompact is very manageable. It makes follow up shots a lot easier to get back on target. I would definitely recommend for self defense.

Crazy Times, Be Prepared

by ATLStunts87, from GA, United States Written on January 4, 2021
With everything that has been going on I figured there was no reason not to be a little extra prepared. These are a little pricey, but odds are you'll never need to use them. So in my opinion worth it.
