Finish was ok. Some machining marks and imperfections noticed. Hold it more than 2 feet away and you really can’t tell though. Seems like it’ll function flawlessly so who really cares. Most Helpful Negative Review Dust cover inner receiver detent not cut correctly
As the title says. The CNC inner detent dust cover cut was not cut deep enough so the dust cover would not stay closed. I had to correct it myself. This mistake should have been caught at the factory during an inspection. No telling how many uppers got through like this.

A1 stripped upper receiver

This is absolutely lovely. No feed ramps but very easy to add once assembled.
Luth makes the rear sight assembly for this model and it's very well done.
Get yourself a real retro Stoner rifle going.

A1 classic carry handle upper

I was expecting at this low price to receive an upper that was full of machining marks like the Davidson defense brand but wow what a surprise,it showed up looks perfectly black and smooth, not satin like some AR uppers but this is a perfect matte black anodizing. I'm totally happy I wish I new about this earlier before I built my 9mm

  • Didn't have m4 ramps but that's literally like 2 minutes of sanding if your that picky about it

worked well

I have no problems with this upper. I'm using it to build "Armalite AR-15 Prototype #1", so it'll get modified a bit. It mates up great with a cerroforge lower. No wobble, no gapping, and the pins line up perfect. Finish is great. Anodizing is very thick.

No Feedramps

As the description says, no feed ramps, FTF and wobbles on a PSA lower, noticeable gap between upper and lower. A little disappointed. After reading the negative reviews thought the issues would be fixed by now. Low quality control.

Still out of spec in 2023

The initial reviews on these were bad, but they were also from several years ago. Unfortunately, I got mine today 08/2023, and this upper is STILL put of spec. There's a significant gap at the rear where it meets the lower receiver. The port door lugs are too far apart and there's lots of left to right movement on all dust covers I tried. Besides that, all lines are straight and it seems well machined. Just obnoxious that Luth STILL can't make these things right.

finish is a little rough but it works great

I had a buddy who I bought one of these off of. It worked fine for my A1 retro build. The finish is a bit rough, but everything is in spec and works fine. Honestly, the best part is that these are actually in stock so I'm ordering one for a different build.

Del-ton A2s, Brownells, retro rifles, etc. Everywhere but here is out of stock. So yeah, this is kinda your only way to go if you want to get a carry handle upper at the moment. I'd recommend getting a cerakote job done to make everything on your gun smooth.
