Is it polymer/plastic...yes
Is it much cheaper than metal...YES
Will it work for a couple of years and compatible with M5 mags...YES

I put this on a Choate stock with a Remington 700 (requires minor fitting).
Included mag is VERY difficult to remove, at least it wont fall out.
Any normal person would use a LA cartridge with LA receiver (what Magpul designed it to do).
I am not normal and now have to get a LA M5 compatible mag for 6.5 Creed.
Luckily, Accurate Mag makes one.

Inletted this into the stock wood to upgrade from no bottom metal works great ,this is my second time.

I’m so glad they had this product. It is replacing a blind box magazine on my Remington 700ADL. It makes it so much easier to load ammo in the rifle from the bottom with the magazine instead of loading it from the top. The installation was very easy. It was put into a Magpul 700 L hunter replacement stock. I definitely will be enjoying the ease of loading the magazine and putting it in from the bottom.

This is my second one ,not because it broke. I originally purchased a hunter 700 for a custom build and figured the well would be appropriate . When it came time for a second custom build, I just couldn't see going another route. It was a drop in install and solid when finished. Easy well drop be you left or right handed. Have had no problem with bullet feed from the well.if you change the barrel out,you may need a different magazine but that'S all that changes. If I get tired of swapping barrels, i'll be back to Optics planet for another Magpul stock and magwell. I always end up back at optics planet their regular prices aren't that great but some of their sales are. Combine that with free shipping offer $50 and you are ahead of the game. The only down side iS free shipping is like snail mail seems like they go out of their way to make delivery as long as possible. They really want people to pay for shipping

Kit was easy to install in conjunction with the Hunter stock and works great. No issues with feeding, jamming, etc. Takes a little bit to drop the magazine due to the location of the release. All in all, good quality product.
