There is actually 16 settings, I was wrong on my first review. Yes the knob will go from 0-4, 1-brightest, 4-night vision, now, in every step from 0-4 you can adjust the brightness of the reticle by pushing the middle of knob, and it works fantastic. Bullseye is very clean. Outstanding sight.
Most Helpful Negative Review Feels Like a $100 Knock Off
There is nothing about this red dot that justifies the $500 price tag. The window housing is plastic. The rail mount and levers are flimsy. The user interface to toggle through the 16 brightness levels is annoying. Most importantly, the reticle displayed appears to be multiple overlapping bull...

Very Happy

by TJM, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on May 10, 2026
So far I'm quite happy with the optic. Brightness was my main issue and this provides more than I need.
I haven't had it long enough to experience battery life, but the AA makes it much easier to find replacements in a pinch.
Quality looks and feels soli.

Best optic, but....

by Nick, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on December 12, 2025
Love the quality of the optic, but even the green dot has a very bad halo effect with my astigmatism. This optic is top-notch quality, just like all my meprolight products, but my eyes suck. Thought the optic was faulty but put a magnifier in front of it, and it was super crisp. It's all also very bright, almost too bright in the lowest setting. That's probably why the halo is so bad for me.

The windage and elevation adjustments make a nice click when adjusting.

Overall, it was very good quality, and I paid less than $400. I would recommend for you people with good vision.

its ok but better choices

by John, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on August 21, 2025
The only reason to buy this is to clone an Israel X95. It’s a nice enough optic, clear, decent reticle, but the battery life is a lot worse than other optics on the market. For the price I would go with Romeo4T, Romeo8T, or EXPS.

Exactly what I wanted

by Kroilman, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on April 18, 2025
This is an extremely durable model that takes the most common battery in the world. Ultra clear glass and the lighting settings are awesome. You get what you pay for folks. Worth every penny.

Meprolight RDS Pro v2

by David, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on May 26, 2024
This red dot is excellent. I chose this because it has a large viewing window and it’s well built. It is nv compatible and works great with my astigmatism.
Pros:
  • Large viewing window, well built, nv compatible.
Cons:
  • Large body, reticle not visible on outer edge of window.
Best Used for:
  • Quick target acquisition, day or night

Great for use on a Tavor X95

by Bassman, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on March 26, 2024
This is my second Meprolight RDS Pro V2 (both with green reticles). The first one is mounted on a Tavor X95 chambered for 5.56. This second unit is mounted on a Tavor X95 chambered for .300 BLK. On the 5.56 X95, I mounted the Pro V2 along with a Meprolight 3X magnifier. Since my intended use of the .300 BLK rifle is shorter distance, with a suppressor and subsonic ammo, I opted to forgo the magnifier. I mounted this second Pro V2 at the rearmost position on the X95's top rail, even though doing so blocks access to the X95's built-in iron sights. Mounting the Pro V2 at the rearmost position works well for my aging eyes. I was able to see the reticle clearly, and to acquire the target easily. I noted that forgoing magnification puts a premium on lighting. The indoor range where I was zeroing the rifle has some poorly illuminated locations, depending on the placement of the target. I used a Surefire Scoutlight Pro, which casts enough additional light at 50 yards to make a difference (I could see the target at 50 yards without squinting). As to zeroing in the Pro V2, windage was a snap. Zeroing the elevation took a bit more work, perhaps because of the rearward location of the unit on the rail, perhaps because the subsonic .300 BLK ammo has a pretty steep trajectory. I was close to running out of room to adjust elevation. But in any event, after some tweaking, the Pro V2 zeroed successfully. I'm a fan of the Meprolight products. If I'm so lucky to have a reason to...

Okay, not great

by Alex, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on July 23, 2021
Its pretty clear that creators of this sight were concerned with performance in bright sunlight. Because the 16 brightness settings range from insanely bright to very bright (1-3), and then suddenly drop into the NV mode (4). The submodes make some difference at the higher settings, but at the lowest are hard to tell apart. Bottom line, even on the lowest setting the reticle is way too bright for indoors, and unless I am aiming straight into a lit chandelier or sunlit window, there is quite a bit of reflection / blooming going on. Maybe this is more about lens coatings. I also have Trijicon, Holosun and Eotech sights, and they all offer much finer illumination control with far less ghosting and reflections (Trjicon, Holosun), or virtually no reflections (Eotech). It has to be noted that regardless of setting, there is zero light leak from the muzzle end even in full darkness.

Otherwise it works fine. Sturdy built, the mount is nice. AA battery support is definitely a plus. So if you really can't spring an extra $100-150 for Eotech, or want to get this for your Galil ACE for authenticity sake, this is not a terrible choice. Otherwise I felt like I could do better.
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • bright
  • Easy to mount
  • AA Battery
  • Large viewing area
Cons:
  • Bright!!!
  • Ghosting under low light conditions
Best Used for:
  • Daytime, bright sunlight

So far, so good...

by Bullhorn, from WA, United States Written on March 28, 2020
DISCLOSURE: I haven't zeroed this yet, much less shot it enough to review properly.

What I know so far: it pops into place on a Tavor X95 like it was made for it...probably because it was made for it. Mounting on a Picatinny rail is fast and easy with the quick clamps. No separate mount to buy, and the little cam clamps lock it down tight.

AR guys might not prefer this sight. It perches up high on the rail, which is part of what makes it ideal for the very flat, non-traditional bullpup profile. On an M4-type rifle, you might crane your neck some unless you shoot heads-up like a shotgun; on the Tavor, though, it mounts right where you want it.

The sight itself has spectacular ergonomics. With both eyes open, you're scanning targets through a living room window, not a submarine porthole.

I do like the "bullseye" format of the circled dot. Spinning through settings, the big, knurled adjustment wheel felt chunky and solid. In bright sunlight, with mid-50s eyes, I could make out the dimmest visible setting (2) well enough to shoot with, though it wouldn't be my first daylight choice. The brightest is a firestorm of bullseye; haloing is minimal. Setting 3 looks about right. Setting 1 gives an IR dot, which I won't use because I'm not planning an NVG purchase.

Comes with a battery (AA). Seems sturdy -- I dropped it twice and it didn't seem to phase it. Battery compartment has an o-ring seal, and the rest of the gadget looks to be as waterproof as claimed.

When they lift the tr...
