Most Helpful Positive Review Fits perfect on a Zastava M70
This scope rail is a perfect fit on my Zastava M70. I had to adjust the tension screw a little bit. Do not over tension it as it will be difficult to remove. It slides on easily and had a very tight lock once in place.
Most Helpful Negative Review Poor Customer Service from Midwest Industries
I have odd wear on the mount from my zpap rail. Only took the gun and mount out twice and wear looks looks a gauge. I am worried the real will continue to cut into the mount. I tried to contact Midwest industries. I waited 10 days for a response and no answer so I called and now 10 more days still n...

If you read the instructions it’s fairly easy to set up this rail. There’s also a helpful YouTube video if you need help tightening the mount. Overall it sits perfectly on my zastava m70.

Durable? as long as you know what you are doing...

by Holret, from IN, United States Written on October 24, 2023
I bought it, I tried to install into my Zastava 308. the fit was a little loose but of course you can always tightened it. The problem is that this device has a secondary latch which unlocks the primary latch that hooks into your rifle. I didn't see a manual on the box so in short, I ended up breaking it because I forced the locking latch open. Which wasnt very hard btw. In fact, I know I will get alot of hate here because Midwest industries is like some sort of god-sent AK brand, but this thing was fragile as heck. It broke within 5 minutes of me having it.
I tried going on youtube to see how and why this thing broke and yes I was able to find the answer there. Overall, Im not happy with this product, not only does it try to over engineer something thats already proven, it also made it more delicate. Include a manual next time so at least I can take the fall for it (and if there was one, make sure its visible!)
For all others, find something russian or a russian replica. Keep it simple, keep it smart.
Pros:
  • metal
Cons:
  • delicate
Best Used for:
  • Airsoft guns

Does not sit center

by Hdk, Verified Owner from WY, United States Written on October 4, 2023
Installed on a WASR-10, which it says this fits, installed just like the instructions state and it is way off center, only way i can get it remotely close to center is by loosening the nut and then it just shakes around due to being too loose. Go spend more money on something that works.

not very secure

by Texan pride, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 21, 2023
Bought this for my m70. Secured it onto the rifle and took it to the range. Somehow it started digging into the zpap rail. Yes i made sure it was tightly secured. Still kept digging into the rail. Called MI for support. Its been 2 weeks and still no answer. Trash, go for the rs regulate instead.
Pros:
  • Looks nice
Cons:
  • Unsafe
  • unsecure
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight

It fits and works

by Yepyup, from IA, United States Written on February 17, 2023
The mount seems well made and works well. I bought the Zastava mount first but it was canted to the left quite a bit. This mount is only slightly off center. That said its way better than the Zastava mount and is useable. The pic rail is great. I have it mounted on a Zpap M70. I would recommend.

  • price for value
Cons:
  • None

  • Anyone wanting a optic on an ak

Mechanical common sense required

by MARPAT, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on May 10, 2022
So this mount slides into the optics rail from the rear of the rifle UNLIKE picatinny rails. Also, if you have a side folder like mine you'll have to Uninstall your buttstock which is nothing and slide this optics mount in FROM THE REAR. Be prepared to have blue lock tight before re-mounting your side folding stock. Lastly if you have a side folding stock you're gonna have to drop the folding stock to the bottom screw holes. There are 3 options for zastava m70 folding stock; top middle and bottom. Otherwise you will not be able to collapse your stock. Consider this optics mount semi-permanent as if you want to take it back off you'll have to remove your folding stock again to slide it out of the rail AND when taking the dust cover off; you'll now have to put extra effort to put back on.. no big deal. My last piece of advice is if you're using an eotech or an acog it'll be wise to get a quick detach mount. I am using an eotech exps2-2 which already has a qd mount. Aiming with iron sights without an optic and the mount in the way isn't bad but there is some distortion so be prepared to focus more on your front sight. It'll be wise to zero your iron sights before installing this optics rail. There are limited options for m70's and this is better than other options out there. Combat veteran of Afghanistan occupation Semper Fi!
Pros:
  • Best option for yugo M70
Cons:
  • Semi-permanent for side folding stocks
