Well, I've not actually fired the rifle with the break, but I have no doubt that what little recoil the 5.56 normally produces will be greatly diminished. I have the 7.62x39 version on a Kalashnikov and it works like a charm. If this 5.56 model holds true to the form established by the AK variant, muzzle blast will be ferocious, and your shooting neighbors will likely complain. The only other thing that I have to say, I noticed on a review somewhere people complaining about the product being shiny black. It is shiny black before you clean the copious amounts of lubricant/protectant that Midwest applies prior to packaging. It is a dull black phosphate finish like most steel parts on a late model AR-15, once the goo is removed.
Pros:
- well made
- Made in USA
- Reasonably priced
- effective design
Cons:
- None that I can come up with

Have this brake on 3 of my 556 and my 300 blackout. I dont do a lot of long range shooting with these guns so do not know if trajectory changes after 200 yrds. I do alot of target practice at 100 and you can not beat these brakes. Reducss recoil and makes shooting. Highly recommended.

This brake works better then a Ultradyne Apollo S. Had a 100 dollar brake on my 18 inch 556 and my groups were terrible and replaced it with this brake and now sbooting 1" pattern. Sometimes in the world of fire arms the most expensive is not always the best.

I ordered this brake after getting a restock notification; they were sold out for a reason. The brake functions great and kept my muzzle extremely flat. If you're in the market for a good muzzle brake without all the competition flare, this is the one.
Pros:
- loud
- aesthetically pleasing
- shoots flat
Best Used for:
- Compeition shooting
- Ban state rifles

I ordered this for my AR based on the flat matte finish. It arrived after about two weeks and is a shinny gloss finish. Probably won’t waste my time returning as I’ll be out $20 just in shipping this thing back and forth. Customer service was no help. Save your money if you have a matte finish.

I have had great results with this break at 100 meters. Helps great with recoil and muzzle rise. Used this break and tightened up my grouping by 3”. Have not been shooting over 100 meters but at that range I am very happy. Out performed 2 higher priced breaks that now are paper weight’s.

I've tried several different muzzle devices at this point. VG6, RRA Varmint, RRA Hunter, Trybe, etc. On my Ruger AR556 this is the one that limits the recoil and muzzle rise the best. I use this one for Automatic Rifle competitions at my club and it really helps to stay on target for those multi-taps. Can't recommend it enough. It IS rather loud and does throw a bit of flame but not as much as some others I've seen. I just wish they also had a black nitride or stainless one I could put on my POF Minuteman. I could put this one on, but the black finish would not match (OCD)
Pros:
- reduced recoil
- Reduced muzzle rise
Cons:
- Loud
- Limited finish options
- added muzzle flash
Best Used for:
- Target & Competition Shooting

Does mitigate a little bit of recoil. I liked it because of the enhanced amount if flash i get from my barrel. It is also pretty loud which is a plus for me. Someone at the range thought i was shooting a .308 when i was only shooting .223 . Do recommend for the price.

This is the second MI muzzle brake I have used. The price is fair compared to other similar products, and they function as advertised and clean up easily. The actual recoil reduction with the .223 was negligible for me. This is a good choice and I recommend this model for someone looking for an appearance change from the standard birdcage flash suppressor.
