Solid mlok option that keeps you from burning hand on top rail
Works as should. I did need to remove some metal for fitting, was easy, just take your time. Not MIs fault tho that’s just the tolerances of AKs. Once fitted hand guard is rock solid. Now can mount light and angled grip on gun. This lower guard fits the gun perfectly, as it uses tab mounts and ...

ZpapM92 Install
This was installed on a Zastava Zpap M92 pistol with the bulged trunnion. Manufactured in Serbia by Zastava Arms it was not a Century import. I purchased it new this year.
I got the rail pretty quick and got it installed. However it took about 3 hours with a file taking off material on the front en...

Well built, not a direct drop in.
The handguard is well built and looks very nice. After a lot of filing I was able to getbit to fit. A dremel is your best freind for this. It has a very tight fit no wobble. I have not shot it yet, hopefully it wont loosen but it doesnt look like it will. Would recommend a lower grip because the bottom portion is shapped like a square not very comfortable for my hand to grip. I used a strike industries grip, looks and feels very nice. Would recommend it for esthetics if you dont mind a little elbow grease.

Not drop in by any means
This handguard is not drop in. A lot of hand fitting is required for it to fit. If you're not very experienced with installing AK furnitures, it's better to find a gunsmith to do it for you. I grind the rear end of the handguard a bit much, and the handguard is now wobbling when installed. It's an affordable option to mount lights and grips on your M92/85. But i won't trust it for any laser devices.

Great for Zastava ZPAP 92 & Ultimak rail.
Another home run from the folks at Midwest Industries! I was apprehensive about buying this handguard for my Zastava ZPAP 92. I guess there are dimensional differences between it and the original Zastava M92. Everywhere I looked there were warnings that minor fitting may be needed to make it work. There's even a YouTube video where a ZPAP 92 owner lightly touched the front face of this handguard on his belt sander to allow his to fit up. I was prepared to do the same. But after removing my Ultimak gas tube the handguard dropped into place. The handguard retainer seated into position and locked down firmly. My Ultimak rail fit back up squarely with the new handguard in place. I test fired a few magazines to verify zero on my Aimpoint and the handguard stayed locked in and felt solid. This opens up a ton of options for me. Like all of the parts from MI I've bought over the years this one has met and exceeded my expectations.

Some filing was required
Took me quite a bit of filling on the front of the rail in order for it to fit. Once I got it on it locked in very nice and tight. Goes great with their m85 gas tube and is a pretty decent rail for the money

I have a Zastava Zpap m70 and I had to shave off a ton of metal and when you’re all done the cleaning rod doesn’t fit so you’ll just have to go without. I just don’t like it at all. A waste of money in my opinion. Definitely not buying anything Midwest industries again.

The only thing you have to make sure is to order the correct one. They make one for the M70 and M92/85 the M70 is a 1/2 inch longer.
