Perhaps no betterrors glass for the money
I have owned several Minox ZA series scopes over the last few years that I've been able to purchase at decent prices. When they introduced the ZV, I was very disappointed to learn they were made in China. I finished putting together a target 10-22 and figured I'd go ahead and give the ZV a whirl. I ...

Not a keeper
Tried this scope at $220 (had a $50 off coupon) and ended up selling locally at a gun show at my cost.
The ZV line is made in China. The ZA line is made in America with German glass. The ZE line is 100% made in Germany.
I have a Minox ZA-5 HD that I think is a quite good scope. I would love...

Solid 4-Star Scope
This is a solid hunting scope. The glass is clear, the parallax adjustment works, and the reticle is crystal clear. The size is also very good for hunting scope. The 44mm objective fit nicely on a CZ 550 FS carbine. Locked into the receiver with Warne CZ-style rings, the scope rode the recoil with zero issues. For what it is worth, it is a good looking scope.
Pros:
- Good parallax adjustment.
- Good glass.
- Great reticle.
Cons:
- The anti-reflective coatings do not let as much light through as the Magnesium Fluoride coatings.
Best Used for:
- Deer and hog hunting.

I was quite impressed by the image. Not long after getting the scope I was going to do some side by side testing on a group of scopes using a 1951 USAF Resolution Chart. Included were a Vortex Viper, Minox ZA, Zeiss Conquest, Swarovski Habicht, Nikon Monarch, and Burris FFII. During broad daylight, the ZV was comparable to the Conquest and ZA. It was just a hair behind the Swarovski. I thought I was popping crazy pills. As light faded, the real story appeared and explained the lower price. Image quality fell quickly. It still performed favorably over the Burris in low light but was nowhere near as good as the higher priced stuff I was testing. If low light is critical, spend more money. If you need something on a daytime rifle, I doubt you could beat this scope for the dollars spent.
Pros: daylight clarity; price
Cons: low-light ability; stiff magnification adjustment.

Minox zv3 great scope.
Ordered this scope just to try something different. Really like it alot! Very clear, great eye relief! Seems to be a well built scope for an affordable price. It offers optics comparable to many higher priced scopes and seems to do better in low light than other brands I have used. All in all, really good scope.

Just another Chinese junk scope labeled as "German Engineering"
Just received. I was excited about my purchase because of Minox's history of making good German designed scopes in America.
Well, not any more... all Chinese (with TINY hidden Made in China sticker), but German and English instructions and Owner's manual to fool you.
So to be fair... here is the review.
- Parallax is terrible.
- Eye relief is terrible.
- Knobs are stiff enough to need Vise-Grips.
- Sharpness comparable to a $90 Simmons
- Should I go on?
Returning immediately.
Shame on OpticsPlanet.
Cons: Just another repackaged cheap scope
