Screws too short
They are scope rings, I guess they would work if the screws were long enough. I don't know if I received a returned/damaged item but when I tried to tighten the screws on one of the rings, I could only tighten one side or the other by rocking the top half of the ring over the scope. The beginning of the the threads on the bottom ring seemed to be stripped. If the screws were longer they could bite and it would probably be fine. Nc star all steel rings
Got to take into account price. The screws are cheap and will strip if you over tighten, as happened to me. It seems like they are made of a poor alloy steel, probabally cast. I doubt they are any stronger than aluminum but are heavier. I guess they would be ok for a light recoiling rifle where you feel ok just snugging the screws. Oh well, I knew steel rings for this price was too good to be true. It isn't worth the frustration and ammo cost to me.

locking key sheared off in 25 rounds
Using a a standard mount, I installed these rings onto a Savage Axis .223 and went to the range to finish sighting in the scope. 25 rounds later, I felt the scope move and upon disassembly founf the key that sits on the rail had sheared off on the front ring and the rear key eas half sheared. It appears that the metal was cast then machined and the casting had a lot of imperfections.
I did not lose a lot of $ in these rings, but I will now need to repeat the sighting process.
Pros: Low cost, ease of use and installation
Cons: Brittle metal, not durable, early failure
