Had this bad boy on mere minutes after receiving it in the mail. Helps to have a torque wrench to get the proper tension on the barrel nut but not necessary. Makes my 1st gen M&P 15-22 look a little more current but wish they had an MLok version. That said, this is kinda obsolete considering the newer model rifles come with MLok from the factory.

This thing sucks. All the screws are loose after installing it on my rifle. There is no barrel end that MIGHT alleviate SOME of the shaking and rattling. Looks cool but when you put your hand on it, it moves. Gonna wind up putting original back on.

Awesome handguard and upgrade for the 15-22. Greatly improves the overall look, feel, and handling of the firearm. Also does not increase the weight of the very much, barely noticeable.

Including the tool to remove the factory barrel nut is also a huge plus. For installation of the new barrel nut you should have an AR armorer's wrench, but with the low torque value this can be achieved with a pair of channel locks using some care and feel. Plus, after "torqueing" there's a pin installed that will hold the nut in place.

The only complaints I have is that it is offered in keymod only and that the barrel end is wide open. For the latter, the rail wall is not as thick as full sized AR rails, at least when compared to my Daniel Defense RIS II and IWI Zion-15 rails, so when looking straight down the barrel end the rail opening just seems cavernous. For the former, I just prefer MLOK over keymod, but in comparison to the competition, price wise, I'll take the VISM keymod.

Does this rail feel as beefy and bomb proof as my RIS II rail? No, definitely not, but its going on a 22 rifle and if it was it would probably be overly heavy. And its not so thin/light that it feels like chincy or something. You are getting what you should expect from an $86 rail made for a 22 rifle, but this upgrade is money well spent.

I thought the barrel nut would fit my AR15 upper and much to my surprise it didn't fit. So you can only imagine how upset I was after I painted it a different color. I wouldn't be ordering this item again. I was looking for an AR15 Hand guard and barrel nut, I might have gotten the hand guard,however I didn't get the nut I wanted.

T purchased this item when it first was introduced. Installation was straight forward. Having all the parts included made this very easy to do. I have found no faults with this product in the years I've used it. It makes the rifle look much better than the plastic factory handguard. The price for this is very reasonable and the guard is very stable and durable.

The handguard looks well made. Every thing but the castle nut was included for install. A call to customer service and they sent out a castle nut asap. The install was pretty much straight forward not hard at all with the right tools. Fit is nice. Makes my 22 look and feel a lot more like my other AR15.
