This very light weight forend is an excellent option for a hunting setup or even light weight build. Fit's in my hand so that I can grip comfortably and carry around through the woods all day. No real special tools other than a 3/4-inch adapter to torque it down.

I purchased this handguard to go with a package that included the Odin Works Barrel the other works bolt carrier group and the item Works adjustable gas block. Installation was a breeze. I followed the instructions I didn't really have any real issues with not getting correct alignment I saw that the alignment pin allowed a little bit of play so I made sure to brace alignment collar before tightening the barrel nut. The problems started when I went to shoot the rifle and I could not manage better than two and a half inch groups. I corresponded with Odin works and their support was excellent and they were ready to warranty the barrel. But on a hunch with the two-piece barrel nut system I took it all back apart and it did not appear to me that the barrel nut was making contact with the barrel. If it was it was very minimal. So I put a couple of shims in between the barrel and the barrel nut tightened it back up and immediately started shooting sub MOA groups. I don't know if it was a quality control issue with a coating on the barrel nut or if the threading just did not allow it to tighten up enough but I brought it to Odin Works attention and they reported that they would pass it on to their engineering team. It is a great lightweight very good looking handguard it's not meant to be a super heavy indestructible unit it's a lightweight versatile piece

Maybe I got a bad one. TBH, I bought mine a while back. Figured Odin just made bad handguards. Came back to my purchase to see what length barrel I had so I could replace this. Figured I’d look at reviews to see if I had ignored people saying they were terrible. Lo and behold, everyone else says theirs is stout. I must have got one that snuck through QC. Cuz I can flex it with the weight of the rifle.

This a good handguard that is easy to mount with the gas tube going on the top of the barrel nut - includes a steel rod to keep the barrel nut timed properly while still allowing the barrel nut to be tightened. Handguard then attaches to the barrel nut with 8 screws. Small rail section was also included for mounting accessories. Liked it enough that I bought two of them.

Purchased this rail for a 13.9 5.56 build. Love the look and quality of the build. The barrel nut is unique and relatively easy to install. The gas tool this unit comes with was a little loose on the Anderson receiver I used for the 13.9 build. This caused the rail not to align with the barrel on the first install attempt. To correct this, I backed the nut back of of the build and put a thing layer of tape on the portion of the tool that enters the gas port outlet on the upper receiver. This solved the problem and allowed me to torque everything to spec while maintaining alignment. Love the look of this particular Odin rail. The others are too busy for my preference.
Cons:
- Does not come with 1-1/4 torque wrench
- gas tube tool can cause alignment issues

This handguard is great for weight reduction and gives the rifle a nice aesthetic. It comes with everything necessary including an alignment pin and thread locker. My only issue with it is that I cannot seem to get the alignment from left to right centered well with my barrel. I have been spoiled with the aero handguard setups though as alignment never seems to be an issue.

This is a well-made bit that looks nice, is light weight, and is functional. The only downside to the Odin mounting system is that you will always over cant the hand guard because of play between the alignment pin that fits into the upper receiver and the channel in the handguard adapter. This means that at proper spec, the handguard will end up a little bit past proper alignment because tightening the barrel nut will twist the adapter clockwise until the play is taken up between the adapter and the alignment pin. Once installed, you have to tap everything back a bit counterclockwise to achieve proper alignment between the upper receiver and the handguard. It’s a bit painstaking if you’re more the perfectionist type. Another caution: do not overtighten the handguard screws. Enough is enough; the steel is not the toughest and will strip out (learned this on another OW handguard). NO HAMFISTING!
Pros:
- Aesthetics, well built, functional
Cons:
- Tricky setup. Beware of hamfists
Best Used for:
- Recreational and benchrest shooters

The quality at this price far exceeded my expectations. The material used is above average grade. All mounting hardware is included and fits like a glove. The instructions are easy to read and follow. This is one of those items that is better than advertised. I will be ordering another in the future and recommend it to anyone needing a really good hand guard.
Pros:
- High quality material, smooth finish, perfect fit, light weight yet durable
