My OPMOD PVS-14 is a WP model on a thin film L3 tube, and boy is it sweet. Lots of guys have paid a whole lot more for their PVS-14, and got a whole lot less than these OPMOD units offer. Heartily recommend.

Holy cow. This is my first nv device so I may be biased, BUT THIS IS AWESOME. Makes me giggle I can't wait for the clear sky tonight. There is a tiny blemish but nothing to cry about.headgear was terrible to get set right but once it is, it's pretty legit. Awesome product and got it quickly in the mail.

The first scope was returned 5 years old from manufacturer date, it was tuned wrong or had been damaged-it require full gain to produce a reasonable image for the ITT Pinnacle GEN 3 thin filmed Auto gate device.
The 2nd scope is definitely used. I took it to a local expert and this is his determination. The scope has hundreds of hours on it. The objective lens cap is very well worn so much so it slides easily onto the devise and will sit oblique to a 90 degree mating easily. When the se scopes an new, the tolerances are so tight it takes effort to get them on and take them off. The reason being is the scope will be damaged beyond usability if that cap comes off accidently in sunlight.
The objective lens focusing rings turns extremely easily. It is not tight and a little resistance to rotation, thi one spins with one finger anywhere on the ring.
The exterior anodized aluminum has been touched un with a sharpie black ink pen. The various rings and edges of both the hard plastic and aluminum have been well worn. It is eident on the edges of the device. These are worn contact points from general use, securing and unsecuring if a protective jacket was ever deployed, it has be2en knocked around visable by chipped platic rings and is not all that clean. Does what it needs to do, but the image is distorted and there are more than one dot. The thing looks new, so the image tube is simply flawed I assume. Hopefully you don't get one like the one I got. Other than that this is solid.

Pinnacle PVS-14 at this price? Of course I was skeptical. The tube I received is amazing! Opticsplanet's customer service was patient and professional. I will be buying another one soon if they keep them in stock.

Unbeatable price. I got 2. One seems to have a defect in the top corner but customer service sorted it out and theres another in the mail. Great gear at a solid price. I'll update it to 5 stars when I get the new one in the mail but I expect good things.

For the price optics planet offered for this, i jumped on it right away, I have been wanting nvgs for a long time but now that I am hunting they are a neccesity for night hunting. Monocular arrived in a nice opmod case an once turned on lens was clear, manual gain and clarity adjustment was great, was able to get a clear crisp view and night turned into day. For the price cant beat this unit, id buy another to run a dual setup if I had the funds. Great Monocular, great price, works off a single aa battery, comes with J hook,head mount and 1 sacrificial lens. Great kit fast shipping, would highly recommend.

Honestly, at this price I had to take the risk and grab a PVS-14. I've never seen one for less than $3500 and here this one is $2799. So I did. Man, it was worth it. It's got a Harris Pinnacle tube and the data sheet is included. Mine had a few spots, but that's expected from any night vision device. They were certainly minimal and the performance of this unit is exactly where I need it to be. The price is just a sweetener. Get them while this price lasts, seriously.

Very happy with my purchase. Came in a timely manner and was usable right out of the box. There was only a couple downsides. 1, the head Mount and J arm we're very flimsy plastic. 2, it did not come with a weapons mount as it states in the mr. Guns and gear review. 3, the IR Illuminator would work for about 5 to 10 seconds then would Flicker and fade out. I know this is probably an anomaly but wasn't very happy I had to send the unit back to get fixed. The staff has been fantastic to work with as far as getting this problem fixed. I have not received my unit back yet but I'm sure it's going to be great. 4, there was a big artifact right in the center of the optic, again this can't be helped really but I was a little let down that it was there and so prominent. But I will definitely be buying a second one in the future.

I think I received a bad unit. The unit I received friday looked amazing. The PVS body was immaculate. I waited till nighttime and turned it on. After reading the spec sheet provided by Harris on the pinnacle tube there was some issues I had. For one it listed zero dots or black specs in the tube. That was false. I had one that wasn't terribly inconvenient but was not what I was expecting from a new unit.

The last issue and the main one I had (and another reason I think I received a bad tube) was the light amplification was pretty bad. I've used PVS_14's for over a decade and the ones I used in the infantry back in 04-09 were of much better quality, light gathering and crispness. The light amplification on this thing was off. Even under full moon it wasn't nearly to spec.

I sent this back today and asked the customer service rep who I worked with to ensure I get a better tube as an exchange with zero blemishes and tested. Hopefully this is done.

I'm sure a lot of people would be pleased with this and if I get another tube back that matches the specs and the data sheet I'm sure I will be. I think I just got a bad one.

If the exchange goes well and I get a good pinnacle tube I'll leave a full review on it but I want to make sure I give opticsplanet the benefit to send me another unit.

For the price, I don't think you can go wrong...but when you pay in the neighborhood they are asking you expect a new and unblemished product. Hopefully this gets fixed because I have been in...
