Great Fiber Optic Sight!

by Claytonian, Gear Expert from KS, United States Written on February 18, 2026
I typically prefer battery powered sights on my firearms, however I decided to try a fiber optic one this time around. Honestly, I was very impressed and surprised about the brightness of the reticle. Now, is it as bright as a battery powered red dot, powered on the highest brightness setting, no. But I would NEVER shoot using the highest brightness setting in the first place. I read the other reviews on for this sight and saw one positive and one negative. After actually using it, I have to agree with the positive review. Honestly, I have no idea was the other user was talking about or why they wanted to take it apart. I definitely didn't need to do that, and I never would have. This is a fiber optic sight, it's very specific. If you expect something else, you will be disappointed. If you are familiar with the M21 and Mepro, you will be very happy! Would recommend!
Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty Rad
Was a little skeptical with the price point and the whole no battery thing... But let me tell you, this sight is bad @ss. I have it mounted on my Orthos Raider S4 12g shotgun and it's awesome. Great in low light or full sun. You can't beat it for the price. So far, no issues with holding zero as...

Most Helpful Negative Review A downgrade from the M21
First let's take a look at the good of this optic. It's light weight compared to others in it's size category. It mounts up really solid. In the sunlight the reticle is bright and crisp. Now the bad... The reticle is very visible in low light situations. Typical indoor lighting doesn't come remotel...

Built like a tank - But the tritium is dead

by ncmarkhere, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on August 29, 2026
I have the M21 and RDS from Meprolight, and I'm very happy with both. I purchased the M22 expecting the same, but the tritium seems to be totally dead... Take it into a dark room, and see nothing. Very disappointing.
Pros:
  • Hardened and built like a tank.
Cons:
  • Tritium not working

Like the opmod X reticle

by 007, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on May 24, 2026
Well built and really like the reticle style. (X) Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it isn't as bright as I would like.

Great battery free optic

by Son of 2223, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 16, 2026
The optic works as intended, sight picture is great and allows you to see the reticle easily every time you bring the weapon to bear. As others have mentioned from very dark to very bright you can wash out the reticle but there are several Meprolight items you can use to help with that and a couple of other items you can also use off eBay if that really matters to you. I was looking for a good optic with little to no parallax shift that wouldn’t run out of batteries when I inadvertently left it on and this is definitely the right one. I also chose this over the M21 since it had a smaller footprint and the red reticle is easier to see than amber. I have not noticed any wobble on the reticle, but honestly it’s on a PDW that can be a bag gun for camping, home defense, or fun hitting steel at the range. If I needed a never shift precision optic, I’d get a NF ATACR and it would be on a different weapon platform so know what you’re getting and what the purpose of use is it will get on and you’ll be happy.
Pros:
  • field of view
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • PDW / CQB

it wiggles

by Dude, Verified Owner from WY, United States Written on April 29, 2026
Bought this after blowing the glass out on a different optic due to high recoil. I read somewhere that the lack of electronics makes this handle high recoil better. After mounting this securely, I noticed it wiggles side to side, mostly the front area where the glass is. The mount is secure to the rail, and the 4 screws that secure the mount to the optic seem tight, but there is wiggle somewhere inside the optic. Seems like its under spring tension because it always returns to rest on one side.Although minimal, I would think there should be none at all. I hope its not the horizontal adjustment pivot.I’d prefer it was brighter, but it seems bright enough. If it doesn’t fall apart after few hundred rounds, I might get the polarizer and or the light kit. Seems like the price might be a bit high for what you get. Very nicely packaged.

unimpressed

by f few, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 10, 2026
Please note this item is just a cheap red dot. If you are standing in the shade the reticle is completely washed out.
But hey for another 100$ you can buy a filter for it. Now you're closing in on 600$.
Let's not forget advertised tritium night sights. It's either dead or just not there. Go in the closet and there is no reticle, just blackness. Just buy a 20$ tasco from Walmart.
This isn't a complaint of optics planet, just the product
