An honest review of the MDT LSS-XL Gen2 chassis
I bought this chassis directly from MDT's website since it is out of stock here at Optics Planet, but for those who find it in stock in the future, I will leave a review here.
I was looking around for a chassis system to replace the Hogue stock on a Howa 1500 LA a few months ago, and I came across the LSS-XL Gen2. After waiting for a few weeks for it to come back in stock on Opticsplanet, I decided that I was done waiting and went directly to the MDT website to purchase mine, which is in a carbine stock interface.
When I received my chassis after a week and a half, upon opening the package I...

Easy install and perfect fit for Weatherby 307
I purchased this for my Weatherby Model 307 Range XP, upgrading from the composite stock. I also went with the MDT CCS buttock in same FDE color with black MDT grip. Finish and color are high quality, the FDE color of the Cerakoted aluminum chassis and composite buttock match perfectly.
From purchased configuration to completed chassis build took 15 minutes at most and looks fantastic. I read that some will still bed these despite MDT stating you don’t need to. There is zero play and in my first trip out with it, I was sub MOA at 100 yards with factory and a couple of my ladder load test 3 shot groups were touching so I do not plan to bed. I can’t speak to accuracy improvements over the factory configuration as I didn’t get the chance to shoot it before moving it to the chassis.
Overall very happy with the build.

Great for Ruger American
You will need to install the mag catch after attaching the action and chassis. They made it 10x easier than the factory stock with pins to hold the spring. They send a mint for you to enjoy while you assemble.
Pros:
- Solid well built
- easy to install
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

Great for Ruger American
The Ruger model requires you to put the magazine catch in after attaching to the action. They made it easy with pins to hold the spring. It is 10x easier to install this mag catch than the standard one the Ruger American comes with. They also included a mint, and I had finished installation before i finished the mint haha.
Pros:
