Remington 742 Woodsmaster Recoil Pad
The recoil pad installed in less than a minute. I bought the model made for the Remington 700 ADL with a curved butt stock, and it fit my old Remington 742 Woodsmaster perfectly.
Pros: Easy Installation, Good Recoil Protection
Cons: None

Pachmayr Pre-fit Decelerator Recoil Pad
I purchased this for a Rem. 700 BDL. The holes do not match for installment. Factory holes are close, but must be plugged. Because they are near the new holes, screws tend to drift during installation. Fit is poor (too Large)requires extensive preparation and sanding. For a product to specifically b...

Not perfect but good enough.
The prefits for Citori field stocks are about 1/32 proud all around and the 870 wood stock ones are more like 3/64 OS. Still and yet, my shoulder doesn't care and if you put a Beartooth comb kit sock on it and tuck it up under the pad who knows! These pads are really a blessing if you shoot 100 targets or more in a single day.
Pros:
- Holes match but drill and screws are included.
Cons:
- A little OS.
Best Used for:
- Factory LOP

Close but not a perfect fit!
Ordered this for for my Marlin 1894 in 44 Magnum after assurance of fit by customer representative. The screw holes line up perfectly but the pad does not match the stock butt end exactly. The pad is a little shorter and a little narrower. Prior to installation I was using a Pachmayr Decelorator slip on pad. I reinstalled the slip on pad over the pre-Fit pad and now have a very soft shooting Marlin 1894 44 Magnum. The two units combined did increase my length of pull slightly but not negatively. I am a big guy with long arms and thought the original length of pull was a little short for me. Overall I am happy with the results since the slip on pad hides the not quite perfect Pre-Fit pad.
Pros:
- reduced felt recoil
Cons:
- Fit usable but not perfect
Best Used for:
- Probable a different Marlin lever action

Mr. Dennis Weiss
The recoil pad design is great and it will absorb a lot of recoil. The fit was about a 1/16 inch longer than my stock but that could be the stock was smaller than usual. Over all very nice. I like the texture of the rubber it's firm on the outside and soft in the middle to take the recoil.

Pachmayr Pre-fit recoil pad .for a 742 BDL Remington
Optics planet on -line says a Remington 700 ADL Pachmaytr recoil pad will fit near perfect on a Remington 742 BDL . I just received the pad for my 742 Remington BDL . Although it's a beautiful pad , the pad absolutely will not fit . The pad is 1/4 inch way too short . Had it been 1/4 inch longer , it could have been ground to fit . I waited 9 days to receive . Not worth the effort , and nor the judgement on Optics Planet's part as having it displayed as such to perfect fit on their review section . Total waste of my time .

Pachmyr recoil for Rem 700 ADL Curved Stock
I used this on a BDL (not ADL) Rem 700 Monte Carlo stock (beautiful old basket weave pattern). The fit was near perfect. This is great since it is for an ADL stock. No drilling, no trimming just put it on with the provided black spacer and the factory white spacer. Fits perfect on sides and bottom and is just about 3/16" short on top. Not perfect but really nice and no extra work. Giving 5 stars since I am using it on the wrong stock and it was near perfect.
Pros:
- EASY INSTALL
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Saving shoulder

Pachmyr recoil pad review
Recoil pad fit well on my model 700 ADL 30-06. Comes with multiple adapters which makes it possible to fit on different models. Reduces recoil significantly from factory stock cap. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

700 BDL recoil pad
Nice pad but it is not a perfect fit as advertised. Is a little bit small for the wood BDL stocks. I had to make another adapter to be able to transition from the stock to the pad without noticing the uneven fit.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Fitting is critical
- Fitting work required

Negative two stars
I have bought and used Pachmayr products for over thirty years. I have always found them to markedly improve form and function of my firearms. This product proved to be an exception. It was absolutely the most ill fitting product I have ever seen. A model 94 has a slightly curved butt and this pad has two screws, so it had a massive gap in the middle. I attempted to make a rubber shim out of bicycle inner tube but it still was atrocious bad fitting and was not secured, wobbled around. I returned this product for a slip on pad which was fine with me because I have more than one model 94 and now I only need the one slip on to move among the guns.

Pre-fit recoil pad for Mossberg 500
Unless my Mossberg 500 is really unusual, these are not very well sized to fit. Too wide, too short. It works well enough, but is far from a precise fit.
Pros: easy to install, nice soft recoil pad
Cons: poor fit
