Awesome Red Dot Alternative

by Matt S., Gear Expert from IL, United States Written on October 8, 2018
Bought one because I am a fan of the ACSS reticle.

Nicely made optic with smart features. Really love that it uses the micro pattern mounts so there are tons of quality options if you want to change the mount.

ACSS reticle is not large enough to get in the way of the view but still usable when I took the time to go prone and get stable. Horseshoe sized up nicely with the targets I was using so target acquisition was fast and hits were accurate.

Easy to zero and had no issues once I got it set up.

Illumination could be considered daylight bright but I prefer no illumination for extra bright conditions.

1x Prism sights like these are great for people who have trouble finding a clear red dot due to eye issues.

Lightweight, rugged, quality optic for a great price

I have Eotech, Acog and PA red dot, I also have very bad vision and astigmatism on my Dominant eye, SO every time I use red dot and scope I have to wear my correction Glasses. In that case, I am not able to use my AR as home defense weapon cause I have to find my glasses first before I reach out to ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Good Clear glass, but small reticle.
I've owned a few Primary Arms red dot's and have enjoyed them greatly. Good optic's at a great price point. After careful review I decided to pickup the Cyclops. I just got it today, so I haven't had the chance to use it. First of all I noticed it appears well built, good glass, as what's expected f...

PA 1x SLX great for PCC's and shotguns

by Redman, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on October 12, 2024
I bought one of these for my CZ Scorpion EVO3, and it proved to be a sturdy and accurate little optic. I prefer the etched reticles, so i dont have an absolute necessity on batteries. I didn't think I was going to be terribly impressed, but it worked out just fine. They are very compact and have a realistic eye relief and are perfect for the qucik sbooting that is ofemten nessicary on two way ranges, or in masculine competition with your friends of the range.i liked the optic so much that i bought one for my KELTEC KSG12. I HIGHLY RECOMED THESE TINY OPTICS!

great optic

by BIG BORING, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on September 4, 2024
This is a great optic!!! Primary arms has done a fine job providing crisp clear glass. The edged reticle is great for when the battery dies, i still have a working reticle. The battery life is amazing long, but i do wish it was an automatic turn off feature.

Solid feel, clear glass, and diopter helps me read at a distance.

by Tim, from CA, United States Written on March 9, 2024
You never know how bad your eyes have gotten til you get an optic. With the both eyes open technique it works for me quite well. The center point is mostly what I have used so far. Its great except for the size of the reticle system. It looks like it should be 2x bigger. The chevron pointer is still practically a dot and I have to focus hard to make it out, which is not so great for using the tip as the 100 yard and the inside triangle on bottom as the 200 yard. That's a really big difference for such a small distance in the optic.

I'd get this mostly for it being solid well made materials, clear lens, and perfectly functional center pointer. The ranging lines can tend to disappear against any dark areas because of the tinyness of the reticle system as a whole. Why not make them thicker and more visible?

best way to use

by Rayzor58, from IL, United States Written on February 20, 2024
The horse shoe reticle makes quick target acquisition and sweeping plates very easy. Don't worry about the the Chevron. I have found if the target is in the shoe, it's a hit for you. People complain about the small Chevron. I shoot 1000's of rounds a year and this sight is deadly at cqb. Out to 50 yards hitting 1/2 silhouette's and plates is simple and very fast. I had a carbine with the same sight and a magnifier. Just adjust the sight, then align the magnifier and focus the magnifier. Don't mess with the sight. If you do it this way, when you flip the magnifier away, your PA prism will still be dead on. Then flip back dead on also. My prizm on my house gun has been on for over a year and is very bright, so the battery estimates seem legit.

Small reticule.

by boating accident, Verified Owner from WY, United States Written on February 17, 2024
I really like my other etched reticle sites this one is just to small to be very useful unless you throw a magnifier behind it.

Optic for Mini-14 truck gun

by Ernie Gonzalez, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on February 2, 2024
This Optic looks real nice on my Mini-14 Tactical. I use it for Dawn and Dusk hunts where illuminated reticles work best with my old eyes.
Highly recommend this set up.

Great little optic on 1st inspectionn.
Only complaint so far is atypical mounting screw pattern.
Would be much eaasier to move around or use alternative mounts if it used the standard 2 screw mount.

great product

by BIG BORING, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 15, 2024
Primary arms makes super clear optics, great quality parts for fair prices. In my opinion the prism scope is a greater alternative then a red dot, because of its edged reticle. I most definitely will purchase a higher magnification, for another build.
