Recently I went about building my first AR-15 from the ground up and wanted an optic that was inexpensive and FDE - surprisingly there aren't many out there for under $1,500. Then I saw the Primary Arms fixed 5x36 in FDE which for the price has turned out to be an excellent optic not to mention if came in FDE which my new rifle I Cerakoted in H-Series: Magpul FDE, Magpul Foliage Green, and Patriot Brown using the Kryptek pattern. The gun turned out nice and the FDE optic made it complete.

From a technical standpoint this is the first Primary Arms I've purchased and would definitely look at other models if I were in the market. Like the other reviewers I found it to be heavy but very well made. The glass was very clear; not ACOG clear, but clear. The BCD reticle is definitely small but after firing 30 rounds I became used to the size. Full disclosure I have an ACOG 4x32 in FDE on my SCAR 16L and like I said it's not an ACOG but I really wasn't expecting that. For those in the market for a fixed power optic this a great choice. The option to choose between Red and Green is also a plus, and it's not a gimmick. One key bonus that I noticed was as it became dusk the green was more visible then the red, and as the sun really started to set the glass in this optic really soaked up what little light was left and it really shined even with the lowest green setting. This is my first Primary Arms product the 5x36 Illuminated red dot/riflescope that I have purchased. Placed it on my Beretta ARX 100. It works well with my flip up iron sights and very easy to pick up my targets both close in and out to 200-300 meters. Very good scope in quality and in price. I will be adding an additional Primary Arms 5x36 to my Sabre Defnce AR.

Well-built unit. Clear glass, with easy to read reticle. It's a little taller than I imagined, but that's just my subjective opinion. I haven't beat the tar out of it, but it seems rugged enough for my weekend-warrior antics.

I have several Primary Arms sights and like them all. Not sure on this one. I bought it for an ar10.5X reticle seems a little small and hard to see. 4 stars because I don't have the upper yet. Great price and I also received a $40 dollar gift card. Shipped very fast.

I would recommend buying 4 of these sights instead of an acog. They are buget friendly but have big features, the adjustable focus is a huge plus. Being able to range a Target without any calculation is also a very nice feature. And on top of everything it's got a lifetime warranty

I put this heavy tank like scope on a 20" match AR-15 that i built for using 223 hornady black 75gr. HPBT ammo. After peering down the bore at a target and looking at the reticle it appeared it was already bore sighted for an A-3 flat top.

After using turrents to adjust, Third shot at 50yds was in bullseye, so next target was 100. I got it zeroed than proceeded to test it from 100, 200, 300 yards. Had to use STRELOK PRO for android app to use the BDC settings because my ammo is not the milspec zippy fast stuff. The optics are bright and clear, the hash marks and turrents do as advertised and do it well. The center dot appears to be 1 MOA so its easy to use it to get a stable centering on a target with grid squares of one inch. At 50 yards they all went in one hole at half inch. at one hundred they held 1-1/4 and 1-1.2 inches. at 200 and 300 my spotting scope could not resolve pipsqueek 22 caliber holes. The BDC worked on steel plates/Chickens and it is brain dead easy to connect using the BDC and strelok and kestrel 4000 weather settings.

American scope makers except for trijicon have their head where the sun does not shine when it comes to illuminated reticles, tactical reticles. They also seem stuck in flat black cosmetics instead of expanding out into gray and tan scope colors. And they wonder why we begin to buy chinese optics?

Quality built and solid product. Mounted on my FDE colored AR-15 right away. The color matched perfectly, and looks very nice on the gun. Went to the range and shoot about 200 rounds, so far so good. Only complain: just a bit heavier than expected.

So far, I really love this scope. I was able to get this FDE to match the rest of my AR furniture. I wanted a scope that could do it all, and after watching a few videos on YouTube, I decided to go with Primary Arms. These guys are giving Vortex a run for their money. Ok, now with an honest review...for one, the reticle is smaller in real life than the way it looks in videos, but after I got the diopter adjusted to my eye, and the reticle sharp, I quickly got accustomed to it. 5x is enough magnification to reach out there, and the scope is also very good with QCB, with both eyes open. It took a little practice, but I was able to bring the gun up and acquire the target quickly. The math was easy for zeroing too,...each click is a 1/3 MOA..so 3 clicks is an inch at 100yds. After making my adjustments, I was all over the bullseye. I tried to use the illuminated reticle, but out here in AZ. the sun was too bright to see it, even at the brightest settings..no surprise there...the illumination is for low/med light conditions. The glass is crisp and clear..no issues, the clicks on the turrets were clean, audible, and I could feel them as well (a dime works good) I like the flip up lens caps, and they fit very snug...however, I am prolly going to use bikini covers instead...just my preference. All in all, I'm very impressed with this scope, and look forward to getting to know it better with ranging and all. Some say it's a little heavy, but it's only 1 ounce heavier than my last sc...

I was skeptical about this optic but after researching for weeks I decided to buy. For about a $100 more I could've got a Burris or Vortex but the ACSS reticle is far superior and the 5x magnification is perfect for my needs. The warranty isn't on par with the other optics but hopefully it won't be needed. I'm definitely a fan of Primary Arms now.
