Excellent short to mid range optic
This optic is phenomenal. I already have the SLX 1x model. I would have bought the SLX again but Optics Planet had a president's day sale on the GLX for the same price as the SLX. I figured I'd try the GLX to see if it's any better. The thing I like most about the GLX over the SLX is the 1/2 MOA inc...

Primary Arms GLx MicroPrism 1x
The Primary Arms GLx is very disappointing .
1. It's overpriced in my opinion.
2. The reticle is super tiny, I prefer the circle dot of a Sig Romeo 5 XDR or Holosun optic.
3. The diopter adjustment is a joke as well.
Nice optic but not a replacement for your RDS
If you’re ordering this optic, you probably have experience with RDS’s and you’re wondering if this is a good fix for your astigmatism. For me, it was not. Idk if it’s my eyes or just the nature of the optic, but in certain lighting situations, I get a bit of light “leakage”, for lack of a better term, around the reticle. The reticle looks decent when you get the diopter dialed in. The optic is nice hardware but it’s heavy, especially compared to a micro rds. If you are used to RDS and like them, this is not going to replace them because it’s not a true 1x zoom. Running it with two eyes open is awkward. There’s a fish eye thing going on. If you were running with only one eye open, it wouldn’t be so bad but i couldn’t get around the distortion of the almost 1x fish eye thing with two eyes open. It feels similar to looking through a scope over an RDS (cuz it is). I could see this being a decent option for like a slug shotgun meant for hunting, but not anti personnel defense. Just stick with a holosun rds if you don’t have the budget for an aimpoint.
Pros:
- rugged
- good reticle
- Mounts easily
- Nice packaging
Cons:
- Heavy
- Fish eye
- Not true 1x
Best Used for:
- Slug shotgun hunting
Would recommend: Yes
Upgrade your sights
As an active hunter and shooter, iron sights developed into magnifying scopes then age and astigmatism bore its ugly head. This optic definitely helped. With an adjustable eyepiece and the green lighted reticle option turned out to be a game changer. Especially great for AR type pistols
Pros:
- Eliminates the astigmatism problem
Cons:
- This would be perfect as a logo, like 1-4x
Would recommend: Yes
well worth the cost
I love the reticle on this microprism optic. Very fast acquisition, crisp, and pretty clear glass.
Also it’s nice n light, compact lil piece. Put one on my 44 lever gun to take it up a notch from the iron sights. Very happy with it for the price point.

clear optic
Second one I’ve purchased. Clear and push button operated versus SLX model older knobs. Bought adm quick mounts for them also although not necessary. These come with an assortment of spacers and mounting options. Only downside is No cover included

Solid PRISM Red Dot
Primary Arms hit a home run with this PRISM RED DOT. The New GLX model has a larger view box with the same quality as the SLX, a perfect combination with the SSLX magnifier.
Pros:
- Small & easy to carry
- etched redical
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Hunting Recreational viewing
- Home defense

Nofty little fella
Good eye relief and clear glass. Only thing is it’s slightly less than 1x which doesn’t bother me at all. Love that it can be used without the battery in a day light. Good product from PA!

Primary Arms Micro Prism
I think I prefer this type of radical due to the fact that I don’t have the best eyesight. Also, it’s crisp and clear. The radical does not even need to be illuminated for me to pick up the dot. Great product would recommend this to anybody with a little bit of astigmatism.
