Won’t work with AR15, ok for .308

by MHurt, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on August 11, 2025
Bought a couple of these for AR15. When mag latch bottoms out in blind hole there is too much travel possible and mag latch drops out of slot when releasing mag. Tried on two different lowers, an Aero and a SOLGW. Also tried with two different mag latches, an Aero and a Geissele and the buttons don’t pull down far enough before bottoming out the blind hole. They do work ok on a couple of Aero M5 308 lowers

You'll Need An Extended Magazine Release for your AR10 Builds

by Jando Rones, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 14, 2024
I thought I'd be able to use a Milspec magazine release button with my Aero M5 lower receiver (for an AR10/308). I was right, kind of. But the magazine release button doesn't extend out enough due to the lower receiver being a lot wider than an AR15 one. So I got this, installed it like any other button, and it extends enough to allow for the same action that you would deal with on an AR15.

needed for a polymer lower

by ted shockey, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 1, 2021
I purchased a polymer lower from TA and didn't know I needed an extended magazine release. This one worked great. I would purchase again. Not sure why the polymer lower needed an extended magazine release button.
Pros:
  • fit and worked perfect
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • polymer lowers from TA

Exactly what I thought it would be.

No surprises here. Does exactly what it’s supposed to and is made of solid materials. Sticks out sllliiiiightly farther than typical stock mag releases, nice deep notches are pleasing to the touch and make it easier to interact with. Solid piece, especially for the price.
